This JW video tour is disturbing......
by WingCommander inso i found this video on youtube.
apparently a loyal jw put it together as a kind of "video tour" to show their friends, etc.
i don't know what's worse, the creepy music (is this what we've been hearing about?

Do you pray over your meals? If so why? If not, when did you stop and why?
by BU2B into answer my question, no i do not pray over meals anymore exept for when i am with other jws i do a 15 second head bow for appearances sake.
i just came to the realization god had nothing to do with whether i ate or not.
many believers are starving right now whilst many non-believers are eating like kings.. also why should god give me food while he lets little children in dprk concentration camps starve to death.

I was thinking about this very subject recently and wondering why dinner time is the default time for prayer. There is so much more to be grateful for than just food.
Might be just me but I don’t remember there being a lot of emphasis on prayer. Why would there be when we can leave that up to the experts, the FDS.
It also seems to me that the JWs don’t show much gratitude. We said thanks for meetings and what the FDS provided bla bla bla. But I don’t remember ever seeing the majority show any gratitude for the little things in life. And I don't remember any of it seeming very sincere.

I wonder if they know that 2014 is a psychological year and they expect to lose a lot of member so they are just planning ahead?

I kind of miss the assemblies. Of course I spent most of them hanging out with my friends and scoping out the chicks. Certainly didn’t spend much time listening. If I ever had to listen I’m pretty sure I’d change my tune.

Jehovah's Witnesses Say They Are The Most Educated In The World. How Would You Prove Otherwise?
by minimus inthey claim their schools, literature and teaching are far more superior than any "worldly" education.
how would you counter that belief?.

I have heard that reading the literature for 10 years is equal to a college education. Not sure that was even in the literature. Maybe it’s one of those rumors that aren't so tabu because it suits them? And I could see them claiming that being a JW is worth more than the best education. But I've never heard them make the claim that they are the Most Educated. Is this something new?

Not sure how they qualify as a charity. Although, that seems to apply to most of the churches I looked at, not just the KH
Ongoing programs:
To assist the local unincorporated association of Jehovah's Witnesses in carrying out their religious objective of preaching the good news of God's Kingdom and promoting public religious worship designed to uplift Jehovah's Witnesses and any who attend their public meetings by means of moral and spiritual instruction based on God's Word the Bible.I found this odd for the one I looked at:
Receipted donations $15,540 (84%) Non-receipted donations $2,878 (16%) Why are there so many receipted donation compared to the non-receipted? I thought they gave in secret? (ha ha, i guess that isn't so suprising) The others I looked at seemed to have mostly receipted donations as well. A few I looked at also had "Gifts from other charities". Wonder what those are from? And what exactly is the "Charitable program" listed in the expense column?
