Are Jehovah Witness willing to end studies?

i recently came across the above watchtower article which spoke about conducting bible studies which lead to baptism.

it progressed to say that if the bible study instructor does not see growth within the student or the desire to work towards baptism, then the studies should end.

Depends on the weather. If it's nice out you might not want to spend an hour indoors. However rain or snow and cold, good to have a study or two that you can use to stay out of the elements. And if it is snowing don't forget to leave a WT at the nearest laundromat to start your time. That way you don't waste an entire hour diving the three miles to your student's house.

Wasn't there an article fairly recently that suggested even after the big A you'd still be required to obey the GB? i.e. they get first dibs on the million dollar mansions of the celebrities that didn't convert in time. I wonder if Prince will be getting his old house back?

I really sometimes wonder if the GB isn't intentionally trying to wake people up without coming right out and saying "we were wrong". Honestly I think that would be the humane thing to do.

How many TRUE BELIEVERS do you think are left in the Organization?

i have a few jw relatives who are true believers.

by this i mean, they believe with all their heart that 1914 was the beginning of the last days, that this is the last generation, that we are in the very last of the last hour of this system of things, and that you should obey the governing body even if it does not make sense.

all of them are in their 60s and up into their 90s there is nothing you can say or show them to convince them or even cause a small doubt that the wt is not god organization.

I know for me I 100% believed it. It wasn't until I didn't believe it anymore that I started thinking about what I was actually believing in.

Opportunities you had to give up as Jw?

i could of gone to a two college program.

but gee-hovah didn't like it and my parents wanted me to sling watchtowers and awakes.

it's a good thing i'm in a profession that i can work and pay the bill's and finally left the "trooth "..

I suspect I am actually better off from being raised as a JW. Neither of my parents were into parenting so I think being a JW may have keep me out of trouble.

Admittedly I probably had it pretty good as a JW too.

There was enough people around age in my area that I could pick and choose my friends.

I got to spend time with people from several different walks of life, both race and affluence.

My dad was an elder, which in itself is proof that god directs nothing in the JW world. But being an elder's child definitely has benefits.

And I got out early enough in life to get a job, save for the future and do a few of those things I was putting off until the new system.

i always got the impression that jws would be brought before governments and would give some kind of grand, impressive witness.

Witnesses carefully rehearse all their preaching speeches. And they always prepare for the courts, using the services of lawyers.

I sometimes wonder how many would stay if they actually stopped and thought about how living forever would play out. I'm not saying I wouldn't like a few more years, but forever is very long time, even if you get to play with Pandas.

I have read and re read acts chap.15 and for the life of me I can't find the part about the 1st century governing body!

i cannot find the verse where it talks about several self appointed men that went behind closed doors to render their decision regarding circumcision.

all i see is that it was the apostles, older men and the congregation that came to a decision.

perfect example of why we need the governing body today.

And without them how would we know that when Jesus said "For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” that he meant only if they are using GB approved literature.

What I find disturbing is the encouragement from the organization to ultimately be lazy and steal from productive people

I assume these are the same people that will be helping to turn the earth back into a paradise after the big A?

Can you imagine any of those people having to figure out how to take care of themselves in that situation?
