I don't remember exactly when it was, 20 or so years ago, but my story is a bit spirtual. I am DFed and in an effort to go back I decided to "make the truth my own". In an effort to accomplish that I decided to really study the creation book looking up the references at the library. Just as I was coming to the realization that the creation book was full of it, not one, not two but the next three Sunday public talks were the exact same talk on creation. That was the last meeting I ever went to.

When was your last Kingdom Hall meeting?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini stopped going to kingdom hall meetings about nine years ago.
i was fading for the longest time, refused to go out in field service, dropped out of the ministry school talks, no longer answered at the watchtower study, arrived at the meetings the last second, and left as soon as possible.
i couldn't take attending the meetings any longer.

Jehovah`s Credentials Fail or Pass
by smiddy3 injudging by jehovah gods past dealings with the israelite / jews , i wonder why anybody can take seriously anything that he has promised for the future .. or is it what humans want to believe he has in store for them ?.
during jehovah`s dealings with the israelites they had a leprosy colony in their midst .he didn`t do anything about that .. they had wars that he instigated and supported and people died on both sides of the wars.
israelites as well as the enemy.. he accepted slavery ,did nothing about it .

I feel like the god of the bible is somewhat of a functioning alcoholic. You never quite know what side of the bed he is going to wake up on. You might get promised a trip to Disneyland or you might get smitten.
Or course that opinion could be because there's some truth to Tyler Durdan's quote in Fight Club: "If you're male and you're Christian and living in America, your father is your model for God."

Spend your time learning something that will get you out of your situation.
Lot's of colleges putting their class material online these days.
Find a job with room and board. Working on a cruise ship comes to mind but there must be others.
Start a small business, you can even say it is so you can use it to pioneer.
There's people making money on ebay by fulfilling orders using their prime membership on Amazon.
Whatever you do don't waste your money on useless stuff (like parties and drinking). Use it to make more money.

"John Doe wants to be your friend" (Facebook) He died 2 1/2 years ago!
by FatFreek 2005 ini just joined a few days ago and the topic is true.
john (not his real name) is my wife's nephew and got killed in a road accident 2 1/2 years ago.. i've therefore come to the conclusion that most folks wanting me to be their friend are simply a computer algorithm, that my feeling bad by not answering their plea would hurt their feelings and risk our friendship, is not founded on reality.. on another topic, one question that i have is: if i search for a person on facebook does that person somehow learn that i did a search for him?.
my son, who is a facebook expert, of sorts, says no.. what say you?.

In addition to what Jeffro mentioned, if you search they won't know but if you click on their profile it might show that. I'm not really on facebook (I have an old fake account that I never log into) but other social sites i'm on do that. You can always try searching without logging in but facebook isn't too keen on that and usually hides most information.
Also if you let them have access to your email address book you may get some "interesting" suggestions. Pretty much any information you put in will be used to make recommendations. Schools, jobs, where you lived friends of friends, etc...

Is it just me or do they look a lot like Bill Pullman from his roll in the Sinner?

Maybe it always was but I didn't notice, but this religion seems to be becoming more and more like a comic book story. A 14 year old's fantasy. Then again a lot of the bible seems a bit fantastical. The story of Sampson comes to mind.

Can a righteous God be one-sided?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ina mother and her four young daughters — the oldest of whom was 6 — died in a residential fire wednesday morning in des plaines, il.
officials said.. four young children and one adult were killed in a house fire in the 700 block of west oakton street in des plaines, jan. 27, 2021.. .
after 45 years as a jehovah's witness, this tragic story really has me really questioning if there really is a god?

The argument I would make is; More JWs equals more people saved so in effect a KH would be more important than the lives of a couple people that can be resurrected anyway.
I'm also pretty sure that hurricane they brag about went on to devastate several other islands in the area.
Of course Brady getting another Superbowl ring trumps everything.

Quoting out of context - ever justified?
by cognisonance injw literature on subjects such as creation vs. evolution often quote out of context, with the most recent material (the newest brochures) acknowledging that often those quoted to support the jw viewpoint do believe in evolution nonetheless.
sometimes indeed quotes in jw literature are just outright misquotes, leaving off preceding or succeeding words (or sentences) that would completely alter the meaning of the source sited (i.e.
carl sagans quote, the fossil evidence could be consistent with the idea of a great designer is indeed a flat out misquote).. .

I'd be surprised if the JWs lie wasn't where they got the quote, not the quote itself.
I assume they just quote someone else's faulty research into the matter.
In other words Reverend Liesalot misquoted Carl Sagan. The JWs quoted the good reverend without giving them credit.
