How do they fare up for being the longest running cult? I read somewhere years ago (in a galaxy far far away) that the average cult does not do well after its second missed prophecy. They got that beat hands down.

JWs do not share the mind of Jehovah!
by abiather injehovahs witnesses are a teaching and preaching organization.. however, history shows that teachings do not make people self-motivated to do good or to be spiritual.
(mathew 23:37, 38) hence god will not choose an organization to serve no purpose!
in fact, he simply denounces preachers, teachers and miracle-performers.

If I were God I would be completely offended at how the dubs try to put me in a box with their simple explanations.
Can you imagine if God was really the way the JWs portray him? If he was a person I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be winning any father of the year awards. I'm always reminded of the God of the JWs by a friend I had when I was younger. Her dad was always promising to take the family to Disney or some such place but always had an excuse when it was time to make the trip.
Sounds a bit like armageddon to me.

I could rant on this all day.
Money is an illusion (from the movie Blow)
Keep in mind i'm speaking from the point of view of a person living in the USA.
What does all that money get you? When the wealthy have all the money what are they going to do with it? At some point it becomes worthless. The average person will have to find other ways to fill their needs, farming, bartering or something else.
Even so, at this point it seems like even the poorest people are better off than they were years ago when things were less unbalanced.
It always amazes me when I see the cleaners in my office walking around talking on their $60 a month $2-300 smart phones.
When I was younger we didn't have all the latest fasions, toys, cars, Mc Mansions etc..

Purged songs of the Watchtower
by LogCon inmy memory of singing the kingdom songs go back to when i was a child in the 1950's.
they still hold a place in my memory and my heart.
how can something that is so much a part of your childhood not stay embedded in your heart.?.

Don't remember which one were purged but I heard the reason was because they were essentially plagerized or whatver the equivlent for music is.

I have to admit i pretty much stopped reading when they said the elders were the dukes.
I know some elders that I thought were nice people and some I thought were sincere and even some that I considered friends but I never met an elder I would trust to have my back under any circumstances.
On a side note regaridng the dukes of hazzard references, have other people been watching the reruns on CMT? yeeeee hawwww......
