I was baptised at age 15. The pressure had been on for a long time before I "finaly" took the plunge. And it is so funny how they put down others for baptising babies, if you ask me 15 is a baby too. I could not even get my drivers license, get married, buy alcohol, vote (if we would of been allowed), get a "real" job but I COULD dedicate my life to the WTS and God and forever be held to it. To be straight forward, I had not even started my menstrual cycle when I got baptised. Talk about a baby!!!

Are teenagers old enought to get baptised?
by sleepy ini, like many on this board got baptised when still a teenager (17).. at the time i thought i knew what i was doing and could take full responsibility for my actions.. 10 years later i realise i knew very little back then compared to what i know now.. was i old enought to make my mind up?.
or could we always at any age ,be looking back at things we did wrong thinking if only i knew what i know now?.
actually how much responsibility can we hold over what we did as teenagers .weren't we pushed by the congregation and parents, we had little knowledge of anything else being force fed the "truth" since babies.. at such a young age aren't we much more vulnerable to brainwashing ?.

Do you blame your parents?
by sleepy indo you blame your parents for bringing you up as witnesses?.
do you tink they sould have known better, or do you feel sorry for them?.
i used to think how lucky i was to be born into a family that had the truth.. now i wonder, how could my parents have fallen fot it?.

Deleted Because Boss is DF JW
by VitoJW ini am new here.
tho i have lurked, this is my first real post.. i was doing "personal research" for the last 5 years, tho was helped along recently when i was deleted as an elder because i work for a company owned by a disassociated jw.
there is no real definitive info in print, other than the infamous 9/15/81 wt, but the co held a mini-crusade and got me axed.. nothing personal,.... just business.

Well, I know someone who had drifted away and 2 years after not attending any meetings or hanging with any JW's was DF for renting an apartment with a DA person. They actually "hunted" this person down, drug them in and even after they said they had just purchased a house and would be moving in one month they were DF anyhow!!

What I used to tell my family is that it was never really in my heart and would they rather I be a hypocrite and go just because that is what they want? Also I reminded them that they chose this for me, I was raised in it so it was not my decision.

by lotus inhello, i am new to this website, but have to be straightforward and say that i do not agree with most subjects and contents.
i am an active jehovah witness, but i am very lonely so i am looking for others with the "hope" or to speak to those that know someone that does.
it has been a long , hard road for me.

Most Frightening Door to Door Experience
by Kenneson inin my hometown, this other witness and i were.
going from door to door one day when we reached one particular house.. the householder became so agitated by the presence of jws.
that he "sicked" his dog on us, but thank god it had a muzzle.

Nothing ever happened when I would go door to door, people never even answered their doors. But that could be due to the fact that my friends and I always made sure we went to the doors together and we would pretend to knock because the people waiting in the car for us were always parked far enough down the driveway that they would'nt of been able to hear a knock anyhow! So there we would stand infront of a door knocking and knocking and no answer but they always seemed to get someone home! LOL!!

$300,000,000 - Percentage YOU Would Donate To WTS?
by Derrick inyou buy a state lottery ticket with a motherlode of a jackpot similar to one in california recently.. lo and behold you alone win the $300,000,000.. before and after the next meeting you share your joy with the brothers and sisters.
some are naturally curious to know what percentage you plan on donating to the world wide preaching work and local congregation?.
how do you respond?.

Hello All,
I should clarify, I am new at posting, not new to the board.
I've been checking in for a short time now. "Spying", "Lurking", whatever you would like to call it. But I thought it was time to come out of the "first closet" I've been in for more than 20 years. The "second closet" being my true identity may take some time. For, those of us that walked away from the borg so long ago did not have the support system that so many enjoy these days. We were on our own. All of the tears and pain were for our minds and mouths only. The only other people to turn to were never in the borg and thus could never fully understand the impact this had on us.Until recently, I thought the feelings I've carried for so long now were my own. And then one day someone directed me to this site. I would never wish on ANYONE the mental scars that so many of us have been left with. This is my first step into recovery. I'm looking forward to your support and will do what ever I can to help others.
Thank You,
MarchOn
