"we just love this idea"????
when it becomes one of the fundament teachings of the organisational part of a religion, the rank-and-file witnesses are expected to be convinced about these kind of doctrines.

Normal Anointed?
by Unbrainwashed publisher1 inhas anyone ever met a professed anointed partaker that was normal?
i mean for a considerable amount of time, not just in audience listening to a talk?
no offense to any professed partakers on here, but the ones i have spent time with have all seemed a little off has that been your experience?.

When I was young (50 years ago) the annointed were those who came in when everyone was annointed. They were normal.
Basically anyone who is in their 90's and has been a witness all their life were as normal as the general population. (Most are now senile)
Anyone who says they are annointed today is probably a little off.

my aunt conned me into, said we couldnt hang out if i didnt turn into a jehovahs witness.
i didnt really know anything about myself let alone the witnesses.

It's the wrong question. Although there is an answer to that question it is much too complicated and won't really help you much.
It's more important to ask: What do I want? Right now. Next year. Five years from now.
The next question is: How can I get what I want? Step1,Step 2,Step 3....
Next question is: How am I preventing myself from getting what I want.

I bought into the nonsense even taught it to others.
This is how it worked. It was kind of republican/conservative thinking.
Parents are responsible for their children.
If parents ignore God they will raise their children to ignore God.
Saving children of bad parents isn't fair to the responsible parents who raise their children to fear God.
It's a lesson humans have to learn even though it's painful to contemplate. The death of children leaves an indelible image of what happens when people stray from righteousness.
So make sure you take care to raise your kids right. It all depends on YOU.
Blah! Blah! Blah! YUK.

Venting some rage and pain.
by jemba inmy father the coboe and much loved member of the cult has ignored me and my children 17yrs and 8yrs old for much of my life and all of my kids lives.
i hate that religion for taking my father away and i hate him for being sucked in and putting all his love, time and kindness into the org and the stupid dubs and leaving himself too tired and uninterested in us.
my kids dont have grandparents, my mum is ok, she rings me once a month but kinda ignores my kids, just gives em $50 each a yr as a substitute for love and attention.. .

I don't blame the religion. You have to be a natural born asshole to do what they tell you.
There are natural born ass-holes. They have an authoritarian mindset. You can't change them.
There are also people who were raised by natural ass-holes. They might be be a little ass-holy because of their upbringing. They usually figure things out and become open-minded, tolerant, curious and fun in the second half of their life.

Do you ever make a toast (raise your glass, I mean, not put bread in a toaster)?
by sd-7 ini had quite the fun time at my wedding reception with the jw family so worried that my non-jw aunt was going to do a toast.
unlike them, i do have regard for not offending the conscience of others, so of course i wasn't going to allow that under the circumstances.
i mean, if they really thought i was going to let them do that, why did they even come in the first place?

No. Because I hate social conventions. I avoid putting my arms around people, fist bumping, high fives and never shake hands with friends. I will give a strong business/sales handshake if I am closing a deal because there is money involved.
I don't kiss my wife good-bye because I intend to see her in a few hours and we already took care of what that leads to.
I'm not saying this is necessarily good. It's just my personal preference.

ZeitGeist: I Sense A Disturbance In The Force
by metatron insimply put, something is happening behind the scenes of world affairs that the mainstream media isn't reporting.. suddenly, there are secession petitions in nearly every us state, including texas, louisiana, alaska and hawaii.. there is a bizarre sex scandal at the highest levels of the us military - together with evidence that the exposure of the scandal was timed.
there have been us military leaders relieved of command together with specific rumors of a planned coup attempt against president obama.
there were rumors about threats made because he refused to initiate a preventive war with iran, together with israeli leaders.. europe is threatened with collapse and anarchy and there is a rumor about an emergency bilderberg meeting in rome tonight.

Conspiracy theories have become entertainment. They are rooted in the way our brains evolved. Our brains evolved to match patterns so that we can survive in an environment of cluttered information. You always see faces in clouds - NOT clouds in faces. One of the big problems in a troop of 120 roaming primates is trying to figure out what everyone is up to. A rich nutritional "find" might be kept secret from the troop by individual members so they can exploit it for themselves without having to fight for their food. These individuals might share their information with select allies who regularly reciprocate when they find a choice food source. Another "political" problem is access to mating opportunities. Men in power (often ugly) are desireable to females. Nature invests in eggs not sperm.
This is why people believe in Gods and Demons and Invisible souls that are in control. No one has much control because it is impossible to get the right information. There are conspiracies but they tend to form associations where they become each others own worst enemies. There is NO master plan. The master plan is in our own evolutionary heritage. It's called greed. And it fails because the higher you get the more you are a victim of your own hubris.
History is littered with dictators torn apart by their subjects.
Convergence of bad things is easy to explain. Shit happens. And sometimes a lot of shit happens.
Democracy has the right idea. Keep stirring the pot.
