But they will not be able to do this, for upon leaving Jehovah's organization, persons quickly shed whatever unity they once had
1) It is not "Jehovah's organization" it is but an organization that claims it is "Jehovah's organization" with no proof given considering 0% prediction success rate.
2) When person leaves LDS, Unification church, ... he loses unity too. Fortunately we do not have a human leader anymore that can DF us for a lack of unity.
He will know that there is one nation on earth in which every citizen cares deeply about every other. He has never seen anything like it. He will not forget it, regardless of the trial's outcome.
Yes, we see this in Australia, how citizens of the JW nation care for victims of child abuse...
What with extensive media coverage, Time and the New York Times, for example, one can reasonably expect that millions will visit jw.org to see whether it is extremist or not.
I can imagine the GB is so happy their slaves in Russia have problems, they will use it to promote themselves in the same way as Rutherford used the Nazi persecution.
Generally, Tom, if you are trying to convince people to return to your governing body, maybe you should consider to give strong arguments for 607, to explain why Hemoglobine transfusion is okay and the platelets are not, to find some prediction of the Watchtower that came true, etc. This would be more powerful that repeating standard clichés like "wonderful unity of JW", "peaceful and caring people", "former members hate group", ...

How would you know that? Perhaps I am here to kick ass.
It is quite common one starts to be a big JW apologist when he experiences doubts. The same applies to JW apologists coming here. Often they have some doubts and they come here to reassure themselves that those who left the org "have not found anything better". But you know your reasons, I do not want to judge them...
Your example of McDonalds. Let us continue with this example. So imagine you work in McDonald. When you leave the company, McDonalds will start to instruct employees to stop associating with you otherwise they will be fired. McDonalds will instruct your family to stop talking to you, they will show them video saying they should not pick up your phone call. At the same time McDonalds employees will come on Saturdays mornings to other people homes trying to convert them to McDonaldism.
Fortunately, McDonalds does not do this. Is it then proper to compare them to a religious cult?
But if they stay in their own home and grouse, which this site perhaps is, at most that makes them obsessive, not necessarily mentally unbalanced.
As you are 'obsessive' with JW, writing apologetic books and witnessing on apostate websites, other people are also 'obsessive' with a cult that destroyed their lives and families. JWs are so 'obsessive' they knock other people doors to convince them about their 'truth'. People here will not come to you on Saturday's morning to tell you are in a false religion and soon you will be destroyed in Armageddon.
i used to dread seeing a witness coming toward me.
now i am quite comfortable and hope that they may say something to me..... does your blood pressure rise when you see a jw coming toward you?

It seems Tom is trying to be a new Greg Stafford...

Anyway, Tom your coming here shows you have some doubts. This is a good sign, we all started with small doubts. So, welcome.
i'm at the stage where i'd love a big scandal to come along showing clearly that the j.w's are not the true religion, but sometimes i get touched inside by various thoughts or events, the russian court trial being one of them.. i mean, j.w's are understandably fixated with attending the memorial, so why didn't the court say it will resume on monday or tuesday, instead setting wednesday 12 april as the date?
part of me believes the comments from pro-j.w's that jehovah moved events so they could attend the memorial.. it seems the j.w's will not be banned, which makes my mind and heart wrestle between thinking jah's behind it, or maybe the ministry of justice is just woefully prepared compared to the superb australian royal commission team who did their homework.
it surprises me the russians seemingly haven't done any homework..
Isambard, this is normal experience when you are leaving the org. You start to see "signs" it is anyway truth. I will ask you 2 questions:
1 Are you familiar with other religious groups and do you know if they experience the same signs as this let-them-allow-to-have-memorial is? When we are locked in a bubble it is very difficult to judge such a sign - you have nothing to compare to it and put it to a perspective. I promise you will finds the same "signs" everywhere.
2 Do you really think God would help JW to hold a rite that is in direct contradiction to Jesus' words in Luke 22:19: And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.
JWs are not doing this - they are but respectful observers...
the year book tells us that some activity in fs is being performed in countries that are banned, is this accurate?
how on earth is it accomplished?
do anyone have any experience?.
In communist Czechoslovakia, it was the same.
No house-to-house. No public display of magazines or Bibles. Starting informal conversation on weather, nature, architecture, ... after few minutes "What do you say, would not be wonderful if the whole earth was paradise?"
I tell you, when the communism fell, it was so difficult to start standard house to house ministry.
hi folks,.
i have a difficult dilemma.
since i'm not pioneering any more, i'm reducing my hours wasted at that artifact known as cart or trolley.
I recall how difficult it was when I started to wake up and I was pushed to do a cart service. I often looked desperately for some excuses to avoid it... I am so happy to be DA'd now.
That pressure during the first phases of leaving the WT / fading is enormous.
the original aim of ct russell in starting the watchtower magazine in 1879 was to announce to the world his pet idea that jesus had come to rule in the heavens five years earlier back in 1874. for the young entrepreneur this new magazine looked like a commercial runner and it was!.
most of us know how profoundly false the prophecy was but if you don't mind i'll give a brief overview for newbies:.
1874 was the failed adventist prediction year for the return of christ in the heavenly glory, which russell was now saying was the right year after all.

It is funny how JW apologists distort the truth. Maybe you would like to check what the org really said on 1925:
the un has banned religion.
what are you're thoughts?.
also changes to it seem to be on the way.... http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/12/trump-vows-israel-vote-161224040133216.html.
I recall in 1980s when Gorbachev was to meet with Reagan and our reaction to that news: "It is starting! It is here! Now they will declare the peace and security!".
So, A.B., join the JWs and 30 years later you will recall how eagerly you looked to Trump and UN to start attack on 'false religion'
it really is great.
i remember browsing this forum the day after i had joined it, and their was a knock on the door.
i thought it was one of my package from ups but instead it was two sisters.
Some think of a cult as being a dangerous religious sect with a human leader. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not look to any human as their leader. Rather, we adhere to the standard that Jesus set for his followers when he stated: “Your Leader is one, the Christ.”
This is what the JWs claim. In reality they obey their human leaders. For example if you took Haemoglobin in 1980s you would be disfellowshipped. Now you are allowed to do it. What has changed? Bible is the same, Jesus is the same... the only thing different is the GB pronounced their fatwa and allowed you to take Hgb. Hence to take Hgb is no longer 'prohibited by the Bible'. You can think about organ transplant ban in 1970s in the same way.
JWs obey their religious human leaders. If the GB says tomorrow you can take plasma transfusion too, all witness apologists will stop to argue the ban on blood plasma is 'biblical'.
