Can every Aussie buy a ticket in the lottery this weekend? It's a huge prize and if one of us won, we could pay Kent a very handsome salary to keep TWO going.. just a thought...

Interested in running the Watchtower Observer?
by Kent inafter reading all the comments about the watchtower observer, and knowing the amount of traffic the site is generating, i have come to the decition it would be a shame to let the site itself go down in flames.
so, here is the deal: .
im interested in someone who is willing to run the watchtower observer, and by that im talking about taking over the observer.org domain!

Surgery for your child and the blood issue
by anewlife inmonday morning my 14 y/o son was having severe abdominal pain in the lower right abdomen...diagnosis....appendicitis.
needless to say an emergency appendectomy was performed.
all went very well as they did the procedure laparoscopicly and therefore he went home in 24 hours and is recovering nicely.. my question/thought to others is this: i was df'd 2 years ago.

We were practising JWs - husband was a MS and we were active. When our first child was born, she was premature. They whisked her away and I remained in the delivery room while hubby went to call relatives. Meanwhile the Pediatrician came in and told me our daughter was quite sick. I didn't understand the nature of the illness though. When hubby came back, we discussed it, and decided that what ever she needed, including blood, she'd get. It was in 1977. She is now a doctor and we are out and free. She never needed blood.

JW commercial on t.v. news channel
by LyinEyes ini can not beleive what i just saw on the all news channel.
it was a commercial endorsed by the christain congregation of jehovah's witnesses.. the commercial starts off with a mom checking on her son,who can not sleep .
he is upset and by the drawing he did, you can tell it is about the world trade center attacks.

DakotaRed, surely you don't think the Tower has hired a professional firm? No, no, no, no, no. Their ego's are way to big for that. Besides, what firm would come up with something as inane as that? That add smacked of WT production!

Their PR people sure know how to focus on the most vulnerable. I think Larc is right - we need to fund an add telling all the 'in your face' truths about the WTS.

The only ones who will be happy about this are the WTS. Kent has been a thorn in their sides for a long, long time. It's a pity we can't find a wealthy sponser to bail him out. Even so, he's done more than his fair share and he should take a long, well deserved rest. He's a legend!

Top STUPID criticisms of the WTS
by JanH inthere are certainly enough valid criticisms of the wts and the jw religion, but a significant number of often-repeated criticisms of the religion are, imnsho, just ludicruous and serves to take attention away from the real issues.
significant problems with the wts includes, but are not limited to, the shunning policy, the blood issue and of course the corporate policy of hiding child molestors.. here is a list of criticisms of the wts that i find particularly annoying to see:.
russell was a freemason (or, even worse, the wts is part of some other large-scale conspiracy like the illuminati).

Larc, so what's Imbue got that I haven't got? I said the same thing as her! But you give her the point and tell me I'm wrong? Please let your yes mean yes and your..........oh never mind. Anyway I don't accept your comments about being cash strapped. Property is wealth. There is a vast difference to being cash strapped when you have 5 billion dollars of property to being cash strapped and having no assets.

Sorry to hear you've been having an off month. I feel mine hasn't been too good either. Just a lot of things coming at me at once. Not the least being my cat being hit by a car. He's ok, but now I'm even more over protective over him than I was before.
Today I pulled up to buy petrol (gas) and as I was driving my sons car I forgot to press the button to open the petrol cap. So walked back to do it. Someone who drove up after me, grabbed the feeder thingy from where I was positioned first - which seemed very bad mannered to me. I guess I felt disappointed that someone could be so mean spirited. You are so right that we can impact positively towards our fellow man and our thoughtfulness can make all the difference to someone's day. We should all try to impact positively on others.

::::::::::::(1) If they had excess cash and invested it in the stock market, their liquid assets have dropped in value. (2) Their printing operation is based on revenue growth and they are not growing. (3) They have increased inefficiencies in production.
Yes larc, but they didn't join the stock market 5 yrs ago. They've been in it for the long haul - in which case they will have done terribly well. Then there is property. Their property holdings would be enormous. What's the site in Brooklyn worth? I've lived in Hong Kong on and off since 1985 and I went to visit the District Overbeer just after I moved to HK. That was 1985 - my dub father had had a massive heart attack and I went to get permission to visit him? (not a cult?). Well let me tell you, the house (Bethel house) he lives in in Ede Road, Kowloon Tong (no. 6 if memory serves me correctly) is worth an absolutely fortune. And it's clearly been in their possession for many, many years - bought when property in HK was a steal. It's almost impossible to put a price on the value of it now, but it's choice realestate and probably worth $100,000.000HK dollars. (divide by 7.7 for US dollars). That's just little ol' Hong Kong. A place my brother referred to as 'tin pot place' when the DO gave me permission to visit my father. You can be sure that the Society bought into the best areas in cities all over the world, and in the earlier part of last century. Property alone makes them worth a bundle. Not that I think they are in it for the money. But they don't exactly throw money around to look after people who've served them well. They hang on to it as if they were in it for the money. No different to any other religion.

If we're being entirely reasonable then why is protection of child molesters in the Org given so much hype by exjws? We all know that the Organisation is not about protecting child molesters. This siutaiton has come about because of the rules and regulations set down by the Society with other transgressions in mind. They have not purposely set about to protect molesters. They're just been caught in their own red tape. Whilst its amusing to see them caught - every JW that I knew would have been horrified by child molestation.
