  Photo shock!

  my kids recently met my older brother.

  they took photo's.

  i had forgotten that they'd seen him and i was thumbing thru my daughter's pictures and came across a picture of my brother with my daugher and one with my son.

  Had Enough, I think if I were you I'd be planning a way to retrieve my daughter from the Tower. Being complacent with the dubs doesn't get you anywhere. As you see from my post - time just passes and before you know it 20 yrs has elapsed. The kind of crap your daughter is spouting is typical of their ignorance.

  Why not turn your anger and frustration into action. To sit back and hope is not enough. In my case it's only been my relatives that have shunned me. My immediate family, husband and two kids are out. If one of my kids were in still I would leave no stone unturned in my attempts to secure their freedom. Read up on deprogramming, or cult exiting strategies. Keep up with info from the net on how crooked the WTS is. Keep your mind open as to ways you might best get your daughter back in your life. She could end up thanking you with all her heart.

  My kids recently met my older brother. They took photo's. I had forgotten that they'd seen him and I was thumbing thru my daughter's pictures and came across a picture of my brother with my daugher and one with my son. What a shock it gave me. I haven't seen him since I was disfellowhipped in 1981. When some one you love dies, you remember them always as they were. I was shocked to see the transformation that 20 yrs had achieved. I looked for ages, trying to get my head around the image that stared back at me.

  You remember your childhood and how this person was so much part of your life until a bunch of men in suits changed everything - and 20 yrs later you are looking at a photo of someone who is your brother. He looks familiar but there is nothing past 1981 to remember about him.

  Just another aspect of shunning.

  So... Where Are They?

  i moved to my current location, a house in a quiet, friendly, family-oriented neighborhood, in july of this year.

  i've been here five months.

  i'm usually home on saturday mornings and sunday afternoons.

  Comf, Fear the not, they will come. I had the same thing happen when I moved here. It must have been eight to ten months before they showed up. I was always home or one of my kids was - so they were very conspicious by their absence. Like you I was looking forward to a visit. Anyway - it's done me no good. I had my fun, just like you are anticipating, but you can't get away with anything now days. They are so finely tuned to picking up on anyone who know more than they should. They get suspicious real quick. Soon as they have trouble answering your questions they blame it on you! Like: how did you know to ask that question that we can't answer properly? You must know more than you are letting on. You must be apostate and that is why we can't answer your questions. Phew! They can relax and leave with a clear conscience. No need to worry themselves about those difficult issues after all.

  So enjoy the short ride when it comes. But just like sex it's over all too quickly - and I'm telling you, you will be left high and dry!!!

  Prolog, What an interesting story. Do you carry guilt for talking that poor guy into the WTS? :-( I know I do re all the lives I wrecked. All mine are still in - and their lives have been miserable.

  It kinda doesn't make sense that teh demons would stop fooling around in front of an athiest. If you get my drift. Btw I loved your reasoning with the stubborn student. It was a favorite line of mine - and I'm still vulnerable to that reasoning too. IF DEMONS exist then so must God. It's probably a legacy of JW thinking, but it's still there in the corner of my mind. <sigh>

  i've made friends with a mormon lady, and she told me that her 14yo daughter has thrown out all four harry potter books because she's realised they are dabbling in and encouraging demons.

  then she told me about her demon experiences herself.

  has any exjw, of sound mind, had a proper demon experience (as opposed to improper!!)?

  Hehehe! Comf, when I used to drink and pop sleeping pills prescribed to my mother - (did I mention I had an addictive personality), I used to see spiders on the walls the size of a dinner plate. I'd get out of bed to look at them and they'd disappear.

  Seeker, I think the story goes that you have to invite demons into your life. Setting up the carboard occult game is like inviting them.

  Of course the thought then follows that demons have better manners than some people - who don't need an invitation to show up!!!
