this is my 100th post, and i decided to repost something i originally did as a post on h2o a couple of years ago.

it was a reply to somebody, and buried miles-deep in the thread, so hopefully it wont have been read by too many already.

Duncan, You sound like my husband. He loves an audience. Not sure how much the Ministry School helped him though. I imagine the university education did more!

btw it wasn't Monty python it was Fawlty towers Herbert was referring to. And it was "two doctors"! Remember the Shrink episode?

One can't help feeling that this might work over arguing doctrine. The other thing I've often thought is that it's as if Witnesses want/need permission to get off the treadmill. I think they've all pondered leaving at one time. When I left in 1979 I told my dear friend whom I'd converted :-( that I didn't really believe it any more. And she said: I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. Yet she's still in to this day. Why did she say that? I should have stopped right then and there and told her it was ok for her to leave too. :-(

Duncan, I remember, I remember. I replied to it on H20 and I loved it then and I love now. It's soooooooooooooooooooooooooo true.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've said it here in the last few days. Coz think about this; All these great, witty, perceptive people here, were all spouting that crap for years - and something woke us up. After we came to, we admitted hating meetings and service and insincere witlesses and pretty well the whole thing. All but a handful really hated their lives at dubs.

I've also thought that my brother brought about a Judicial Hearing against us coz he was so mad that we could walk away and he couldn't. I'm convinced we p'd him off big time, being able to walk.

Why not forward this piece to Freeminds. It's right on!!!!

Going out with a bang

after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.

it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.

i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.

As for Little Toe's public talk. I don't seem to be able to get to it. I keep getting a bunch of advertisments instead. OH well.

the elders just called us.

one called and another one got on the phone first to ask if my husband would meet with them.

my husband told them he had nothing to say, and if they are going to make any announcement from the platform that slanders our name in any way we will sue them personally, and if we do meet with them we would only do it if our lawyers come and to tell jr brown and mario marino to come also.

I think you need to use the child abuse issue to your advantage (sad though that is). The elders didn't act on your envolvement with the child abuse issue because they are very afraid of bad/any publicity on this subject. So they waited until they could get you on an official JW crime - celebrating Christmas.

OK, purposely ignore the Christmas thing and phone them up and tell them that you have contacted the media and they are VERY interested in doing a story on you and your work to expose JWs for their role in covering up sex offenders and child molesters within their ranks. Tell them that if they pursue a JC in your case that they will be playing right into the hands of the media who is keen to expose this shameful problem within Jehovah's Witnesses. Tell them their disfellowshipping you will come across in the media as a blatant attempt to cover up their guilt.

I should think this aspect will frighten them more than any other you present. It doesn't matter if its true or not. Whatever it takes eh??

How sweet...Not knowing when family dies....

ahhh, just blowing off a little steam here...perhaps many of you have been through the same shit.

i knew for the past couple of years that my uncle in mobile was dying of cancer.

well, the last time my mother and i talked (around october i think)she said, "well, we were in mobile all last weekend for uncle *****'s funeral".

Hi Dan, As my parents are still alive, they tell me who's dying, and who's getting engaged or married or having babies (all my relatives are dubs). When they're gone, I won't have any information coming in at all. My cousin died suddenly a couple of years ago but I didn't go to the funeral coz I didn't want to go where I wasn't wanted. I was left out on a limb to ponder all the happy memories I had of her before 'them'. It's sureal isn't it? In your wildest dreams you just can't imagine how 'they' take part in this form of emotional exclusion.

Mother, wife, myself, DA'ing ourselves

well, i've finally had it.

i'm da'ing myself, along with a piece of my fam.

the unbaptised ones are refusing to go with my father now, and even my still devout father is leaning towards our opinion on things.. there wasn't even any screaming when i called the jw's the great hypocrisy last nite.. i just can allow myself to be associated with them in any way.

Ashi, Just want to add my comments to all the rest. We walked away twenty years ago, for many of the reasons you mentioned. We only lost about 12 yrs to the WTS, but the last 20 have more than made up for them. We have had such a rich life since leaving the Tower. Just use your commonsense and work hard and play hard and have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps don't put in your DA letter till after that wedding. Sounds like your brother in law to be has enough on his plate. Don't make the mistake of thinking the dubs can't get any worse! Trust me, their mean-ness of spirit knows no bounds!

MOVING TO WHERE THE NEED IS GREATER

how many of us would like to see wts brought to task for encouraging us to "go where the need is greater" and then not supporting our efforts or trying to subvert them by all means of organizational rules and regulations after our having gone through much pain and trouble to relocate our family and have suitable employment?.

or am i the only one who has experienced an abusive scenario in this regard?

You all are pussy footing around. The need is great or the greater are needed in China, Indonesia, India etc. These places have about 10 million to one JW. Yet the WTS kids itself that it's preaching the goodnews in all the inhabited earth. Bullshit it is! It's not even getting remotely close. When challenged on this point they starts waffling about how many languages their books are published in. And how brother so and so went to China and he told me how many are hearing the goodnews in his province. Right. 1.2 billion Chinese and how many dubs? If every dub on earth went to China, the good news would not be preached there. Coz do the math. It's impossible 5 million into 1.2 billion??? Then there's the rest of Asia to worry about. So then they revent to some obsure text in Mathew or soemwhere that they claim more or less excludes Asians from the goodnews. I've been thru this with You Know. He'll give you the scripture. So God's a racist now. He created Asians undeserving of Goodnews - unless they're culturally westernized in which case they are receptive.

This is one of their weakest links in a whole chain of weak links - if they really believed that end time stuff, they'd head east in droves!!!

Celtic, the cure for cellulite is at hand - but I'm not sure that it's very marketable. Have you ever noticed that Asian women don't have cellulite? Well I'm telling you, they don't. Not the ones who've been raised on the traditional asian diet. I've lived in Hong Kong on and off for the last 17 yrs and I swim laps with the local people. Even the old birds don't have cellulite. Cellulite is a product of the western diet. We eat about 36% fat as part of our calorie intake and Asians eat about 14%. However MacDonalds, KFC et al are booming in Asia now, and I've literally watched the arse's of Chinese women growing yearly - they looking more and more like us every day. Sad isn't it?
