i have not been a very active poster lately [have you missed me?].
there has been plenty of drama in my life the last few weeks, and my time has been absorbed by it.
my grandma is seriously ill, and has but a few more months to live.

Their strength comes from a commitment that is superhuman and that could mean taking you out by force. You are on their turf now, don't forget that. They are more pious and than you can imagine?
The one good thing is that your Grand Ma won't see whatever they do....

i also realized this.... did you know that for every article that you went over in a meeting, that you read and heard the information four times?.
you read it, then underlined the answers...then it was read again in the hall and reiterated again in the answer!

So you doubt my time line! Stay with me now? My parents learned the truth when I was only six months old 1945. You count them, unless you don't count the years as association that I was only four, five, and six, years old. And the discussions to try to convert my school mates while I was in what they now call middle school? Not babtized, but working, involved, associated?????
Four - Mom walked in service everyday, had many bible studies.....I remember the hot afternoons. Sitting still for at least an hour and then walk, walk, walk, again.

Five - Talks in TMS, brothers had to put a small stand under my feet so that my face could be seen by the dubs. Much of my life was dedicated to being involved, my Dad was for the most part the only elder, brother, or qualified to serve male in the congregation so we would go and pick up most of the congregation and then have the study and then take most of them home, because many didn't have cars.

Six - Service and after school meetings etc. - Circuit assemblies into the night and district assemblies in the hot sun that lasted until 9:00 PM.
I understand that you have issues and I also have them.
The fact that we neither of us want to indentify ourselves speaks volumes for the way we feel. The fear of being an outcast etc.
I don't think anyone will argue that there are good people everywhere?

I think they were having sexual problems with soooo many of the youth in the sixties that they couldn't keep up with it. Yes disfellowshipping was pretty often the decision, and I am certain they had other alternatives.
Probation, public reproving etc....
Many of my freinds were DF'ed.

i heard that comment at a meeting from someone that had been associated for 2 months.
(just thought it was interesting).
So, spend some of the money....millions.....I understand, to advertise the kingdom instead of door to door frustrating themselves and exposing themselves a more and more anger that is building from ther actions in many family matters....

They ruined me from ever being a great witness because I can't get beyond this feeling of not adding up...worthlessness...
After 20 meetings they said I was repentant but there were circumstances.
They then said after many more meetings several even with the district servant, (that was before the overseer titles), that I was to be disfellowshipped. Of course they disfellowshipped my girl friend also, we were both hurt very badly. I spent many years in bars trying to get this set in my mind. I am not in favor of this action, and I am sure that anyone that has been total avoided by all of their friends overnight would agree!
57 years I have associated with the dubs.
This feels good....
My first post was "still on the fence".....I have much of my family that are still very involved. So it is almost impossible to just turn quickly....I haven't been to a meeting in some time but I am having a problem saying that there is not good in there somewhere....

Being sooooo different all of your life is very difficult. Trying not to be noticed when not saluting the flag. Going out in service and seeing your friends from school. Some witnesses wouldn't even stand during the anthem, boy I just knew we were going to get ourselves killed a couple of times? Just don't go to events like that!
Heated arguements about the bible. I am not so sure that the bible should totally dominate your every thought anyway?
Too many rules and principles???
Once an organization has to have several books to guide the every movement of the brotherhood it is out of control.....too many controls....!

I am sure that my life has been dramatically changed by this association. Some things actually molded me into the person that I am today, mostly for the good. The honesty and moral way of life I was taught at a very young age has made me a good person. I never went to college, so my way of life along those lines make me mad! Unfortunaly your income has an effect on who you are on a day to day basis.
The guilt and the horror of daily reminders of the end of the world and to my existence has harmed beyond repair.
I have enjoyed this site for a while by just reading the comments but not replying has become more than I can resist!
