fULANO,The GB DOESN'T LIVE THERE? OH THAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD
Owww, sorry you took that wrong, it is just a fact you know..
my daughter just ogt a tourist brochure from a jw-owned agency in illinois touting pilgrimages to the gb's $50-million retirement valhalla.
it's laughable that they're able to sell this fiasco to the friends as an ``educational center.''.
what sort of graduates is this specious ``education center'' turning out?

Good points Room 215.I visited Patterson around '95 or '96. It was very saddening for me. Sorta made me feel like like the GB and company feel like they are so great and deserve only the best of everything. But, I put it all on "the shelf".
It was especially disheartening in light of the fact that many JW's from West Virginia were unable to come to the DC's that were held in Columbus OH (where I live) because they couldn't afford the trip. And here's the NY crime bosses living like kings.

Schiermonnikoog...Only Vivamus will capture that!!
when a witness talks about a person not being "in the truth", does that get to you?
or if they self-righteously proclaim that "at least, they're in the truth and not worldly", does that push any buttons?
Nowadays I ask them: What s the truth according to your opinion?
.
what is the youngest you've known someone to be da'd or df'd, and what for?
Disfellowshipped for spiritism??? What did she do? Get caught reading her horoscope or looking at those damned fortune cookies?
This was in Santo Domingo, she really went to a "brujo" to put a spell on a wordly guy!
i guess i should introduce myself for i am a new poster-boy :-) my name is jason howard and i currently reside in santa cruz, california.
i spent the first 24 years of my life as a jw, starting in danbury, ct, then to fayetteville & charlotte, nc, and finally brooklyn, bethel, where finally all of my negative inner thoughts and feelings were confirmed.
(from the ages of 14-24 i always felt something just didn't add up with the organization, but i could never quite put a finger on it) i spent my career at bethel in the brooklyn warehouse/purchasing departments and worked with some really great individuals.
back2dafront & fulano,I know of a "Makoto Yabu" who is currently at Bethel and staying at the Bossart. He was accepted in late 1997. Working in the laudry department. Attending the Japanese congregation in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. Originally from Los Angeles, California
Also I know of a "Eddie Lee" who was at Bethel from 1992 thru 2001. He worked in the bindry for the last tenure of his term there in Brooklyn. Attended the Chinese congregation in Manhattan, NY. Originally from Los Angeles, California. Moved back to L.A. after marrying a Japanese sister.
You may know of them.
Alligator Wisdom (aka Brother "NOT Exerting Vigorously")
This is fun, I know Makoto very well!!!! Nice guy, quiet and honest, is he still there? I don'tknow Eddie.
in the january 1 issue of each year, they harp on about how many hours the jws did last year etc etc.. how many hours are possibly falsely reported?.
discuss,please
This is too funny.
My missionary aunt actually views it as "work", like a job.
When she was visiting, I was waiting for her to go into her "Jehovah Mode". I didnt really feel like putting my husband through that, she must have noticed because she informed everyone in the room that she was on "vacation" and would not be taking her bible out.
Heaven, in what country did she serve or is she serving?
What I did on vacation in my home-country was giving experiences, 100-200 dollar a night was the least you would collect!

I lived with a couple of missionaries that would go out two mornings and one day and report 140 hours. Fun stuff: He didn't speak spanish enough to give a talk but got appointed as a CO, because he told the branch that he would live missionary-work (his words when moving out the home).

I also remember bethelites who walked around, thinking they were hot stuff when theywould go to work with a starbucks in their hands
Yes that was fun, not drinking coffee at the table, but buying it for $2! Does anyone recognize this: Working untill 6.30 pm, doing "overtime"and than ordering a pizza on the workplace on Brooklyn expences? That was popular at my department when the food was not wat they liked.

Hey Jason. I was at bethel from '94 to '01. I worked for most of that time in the factory. I just sent you an email. We definitely need to compare notes!
Joeshmoe, did you live in the Bossart at that time? I did in 1999.
