When a Witness talks about a person not being "in the truth", does that get to you? Or if they self-righteously proclaim that "at least, they're in the truth and not worldly", does that push any buttons?

Yeah. It pushes the "you are a Gomer" button.

Wondered what your next question would be...

It doesnt get up my nose to hear them say it, it took me ages to stop reffering to it as "The truth" even after I had left and believed it to be totally false. old habits die hard huh

I find myself saying "in the religion" because "in the truth" is such a lie.

No it doesn't bother me in the least.Jesus did say you must worship in spirit and truth so aparently if they believe what they have is the truth then they are entitled to say that .It's when they get real pushy about their doctrine that I get very defensive and turn away from any further conversation. I hate their concept of you are spiritually challenged if you argue about any little detail of their doctrine and the way they act as if they are holier than thou cause somehow they are onto some fantastic knowledge that is alluding everyone else because satan has shut your eyes ,THey are soooooooooo quick to demonize and turn an intelligent conversation into primal fear of being influenced by evil.

I can't even bring myself to prounce the two words; J------'s W-------- because they aren't. If Jehovah is god, then the 'hovahs certainly cannot be his witnesses. That's why I always use the made up word "'hovah".(a "worldly"friend of mine first used "'hovah" to describe me some twenty years ago.)

    Minimus,

I have no reason to fault them for what I once believed myself.

IW, I'm not primarily faulting a person for their beliefs as much as I am uncomfortable to hear certain expressions (ones that I've been raised with).
