  When you write your letter to the congregation that you no longer want to be known as a JW, they have to make that announcement. From that moment on you are in the same position as a df person.

  I havent done that, but I am thinking about doing it.

  based on the comments of the governing body, at various conventions, annual meetings , info-mmercials, etcetara, etcetara, etcetera, [ i loved yule brenner in the king and i],.

  If they are what so many times is said they are, milionaires, travelling, 4 star hotels, Bentleys, butlers.....they can't be stupid :) :) :)

  In my belief you can't measure intelligende unless they are tested.

  Judge Rutherford's son & lineage???

  so i have been doing a little light reading regarding the whack job rutherford and find out he had a son.

  does anyone know if he had grandchildren etc?

  so it's rumored started by one member that there is a new pioneer rank called basic pioneer, announced at annual meeting.

  can anyone verify this is true?

  everything else presented at the meeting has been verified except this.

  Stuckinarut2: 3) sounds plausible....

  They are trying to downsize bethel numbers everywhere, so what better way to do it and provide some sort of "dignity" to the ones they cull!

  Send them out (on their own, or with a very basic allowance) to some god-forsaken place as "MISSIONARIES" with all the in-house glory it provides.

  End result: lower bethel numbers and less responsibility and financial strain on the org....

  A missionary costs three times as much as a Bethelite. Don't comment without knowledge please.

  i came across this video ... and watched it ... why?

  i don't know really, but i found it intersting.. especially interesting was how these men used the bible, they knew their message, they used an actual hard copy bible that has obviously been studied, and the older jw man, well, he was using a tablet.

  it seemed cumbersome compared to using the actual bible.

  Don't worry, I am around 50 now and have been drinking a liter of wine a day for the last 30 years, with a Cognac or rum ( missionary-service, there was no cognac), after dinner.

  Everything ok, thinking, no viagra etc. My parents the same and are deep into their eighties.

  are there any statistics to show that proportionally the jw's are growing at a greater rate outside of western countries and, in particular, the african continent?.
