  Extremely interesting replies to this post. May I just for clarity explain my use of the word amoral, which seems to have caused some consternation with some of you.

  Amoral Means: Lacking Ethical Principles or without Principles.

  If we are going to tarnish all elders with the same brush, are we no worse than the dubs who tarnish all of us as apostates? I for one am not an apostate; I do not consider myself as such however by my very presence on this site I am considered or would be considered as such would I not? Not by board members perhaps but certainly by the dubs.

  Therefore my view still stands after giving careful consideration to all the replies, if some of us are going to put all elders into the same category as unjust men who can think for themselves then that is an amoral act on our part.

  Why? Take for example Bro Simpleton. Raised in the JW faith parents taught him at home, he pioneered as a teenager, left for bethel at the age of 21 appointed as an elder at 28 assigned to a congregation. Bro simpleton has had no outside influence what so ever all his life, totally cocooned in the faith the epitome of a loving elder.

  Would it not be punitive to judge this Bro in the same way as you would judge an elder who has wronged you? Of course it would.

  We all know that there is a furtive body within the Borg; that goes without question. Therefore we need to be pragmatic in our approach rather than accusatory.

  the wts always taught making money was bad, and those who already had it, should not show it off for fear of offending those who didn't have any.. there were so many witnesses that barely made ends meet, again, taught that making money was bad, getting an education was bad, therefore making it hard even with full time work to make a decent wage, enough to support a family.. since leaving, have you allowed yourself the freedom to explore what is out there, with education, with making money, allowing yourself to prosper in all areas of your life?.

  opportunity is out there, to become better people, to make money, live more freely, without the restrictions that the society put on us.

  what a relief from the misery of just making enough to get by until "the end.

You ex- elders who elicit winsome words of wisdom on this board, recall when you were serving faithfully and were in possession of your KMS textbook book how did you feel? Superior perhaps? because you were privy to information that the R&F did not have?

  Lets be honest and without fear of contradiction the majority of Elders are scared shitless of loosing their coveted position, they would not for a mille second contemplate going against the GB.

  The Circuit overseer comes along ( A wondering itinerant) waves his big stick do or else and most of them cave in. Its so sad.

  So my point is this: Stop attacking the Elders they are merely pawns used by the GB disposable dispensable. For goodness sake 2 elders on my committee who disfellowshipped me were my so called friends. One of them I brought into the truth studied with him. The other I mentored until the day I left. These men did not want to Disfellowship me to the contrary one of them broke down in tears. They did what they were told to do.

  I was high profile, media spokesperson PO etc...

  These men cant think for themselves, they are not allowed to. Stop attacking these lambs. They are puppets to be used and discarded. Now I know this post is going to infuriate some of you who have been on the receiving end of unjust elders, however before you reply think of the vein in which this post is threaded.

  Are Parents Who Shun Their Children At Risk?

  who looks after the welfare of ageing witness parents who have disfellowshipped children?

  are these df'd children (actually, some of these df'd children are in their 60's) meant to ignore being ignored and then care physically for their non speaking parents?

  also, can df'ing your own children lead to witness parents suffering illness or even death as a result?.

  Suicide Post from last week - Info Needed

  all correspondence regarding last weeks posts on 'chantelle's' suicide conducted throughout with adeles full permission and consultation has resulted in needing more information.. if anyone has any information at all in that this story without permission was passed on to the media, i would like to know about it.

  if anyone in fact was foolish enough to pass this onto the media without express permission from adele first, action will be taken to remind any such individuals that you acted bang out of order and to expect consequences resulting from any such action taken.. note to englishman personally: it's ok, the story panned out after posing some investigative questions today, will ring you later with detail.. yours faithfully.

  Discrediting Credibility - Telling Stories Safely

  it has long appeared to me that some here within this community and possibly lurkers too might find this forum a toally unsafe platform upon which to let their personal stories be told for fear of attack, disbelief or other derogatory and unsavoury comments, even on behalf of those ones who really should know better.. now, why is it these days, and i'm sure i'm not the only one who experiences this, that i feel that i do not want to tell publicly my full personal story and/or experience relating to upbringing with the jw's?

  why am i fearful of attack?

  why am i fearful of disbelief?

  You are extracting from celtics post something that is not there. Are you taking this personally? Are you therefore complicit ? Not wanting to be antagonistical or indeed indifferent to your remarks, but I do suspect a somewhat irregular inference in your reply. All Celtic and indeed I are saying is that some of the populace that use this board are highly suspicious to us in their motives, that on occasion leave a rather distasteful feeling in ones mouth.
