Timothy, I must admit that I used to share WBTS"s view on homosexuality but since reading your threads on the topic I have to say that I have taken a different stand now. I have better understanding of what my gay friends are going through.

Is homosexuality ever justifiable? I say YES!!!
by TimothyT inin the january 2012 awake, pages 28-29 there is another article about homosexuality.. .
the writers argue that genetics, the environment, and sexual abuse do not justify homosexuality.
the bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong and is an abhorrent sin.

Grayneal..... I too find that people from other churches are not as judgemental as JWs.
Retrovirus ..... We both are doing fine. We are planning to celebrate our first Christmas this year just for the fun of it!
Although I have no interest to join any church I like the idea of attending a weekly service and meeting people without any restrictions.

Hello, I don't post often but I have made it a daily habit to come here. Currently I am not into any religion after exiting the WTBTS. I have no knowledge about Christianity other than what was taught by WTBTS. So I am kind of lost spiritually.
I noticed some of the XJWs here have joined other Christian church. I would like know what had made you join other Christian Group and why do u think it's different from JW. All kinds of feedbacks are welcomed.

Poll: What do you believe now?
by Lunatic Faith ini have been noticing we ex-jw's are very different in our choices of beliefs once we leave the wts.
some choose christianity, others flee christianity.
some find they can't beieve in anything any more.

I have been out for a few months now. I am feeling rather lost, spiritually. I do believe in Creator. Not into any denomination and I have no wish to join any in the future.

Your top 5 most irritating doctrines/practices?
by cedars init's clear that virtually everyone on here is infuriated by wt teachings/doctrines/practices, but i would really like to know what is of most concern to people who frequent this forum.. here is my top 5, number 1 being the most significant/infuriating:.
the disfellowshipping practice - expanded to include family members (but not parents) who are old enough to leave home.
wrecks families and creates abject fear once people find out the truth about the organization.the blood issue - another unmerciful teaching, but one that costs lives.unquestioned authority of governing body - a handful of men make life-altering decisions as representatives of a larger group of people who they never see or speak to, and yet they demand unquestioning obedience on pain of being disfellowshipped.failed prophecy - the fulfilment of huge swathes of bible prophecy, including revelation, has been attributed to the events of the early 20th century, and the actions of a small group of men.two-tier christianity - faithful and discreet slave are anointed who go to heaven to whom ransom provisions apply directly, whereas remainder, or "great crowd" stay on earth and form a sub-class, only access benefits of ransom through fds.i realise that many of these issues are inter-related, but that's roughly how i would put them.

1 - No blood transfusion
2 - No higher education, career
3 - No 'worldly' connections. Where are the JWs living then? on the moon?
4 - Failed prophecies
5 - Field Service..... this was hard for me as a single parent and working full time.

Once you are in the motel surrounded by JWs I am sure they will MAKE you attend the convention. I have been in the same situation. Don't go if you don't want to attend. Be firm with your 'NO'. Best of luck.
Sorry just read your last post. Well done!

What's done cannot be undone. IMO all you can do is to let her know that she has your support. The rest is up to her to decide.
