My thermometer is hitting mid 90s in the shade here in the afternoon. It's killing my tomatoes.
It'll be cooler in a couple of weeks once the summer rain pattern sets in. We usually get a t-storm overcast form overhead at my locale during the hottest part of the day during that season (2 PMish), we get a cooling downpour, and then the T-storms track west towards the coast with the sun, which means it is likely to stay shady until sunset.
