The book Self-contradictions of the Bible by William Burr was originally published in 1859 and is pretty comprehensive - it should be widely available in libraries.

Thanks for reminding me! Isn't it strange how this day is largely forgotten by the English? It's a shame we aren't as a nation half as patriotic as the Welsh, Irish or Scottish.

(((Spicey)))!!!!
(((Teenyuck)))!!!!
(((Latte)))!!!
Thank you for starting this thread spicey! Boy, have I come a long way in the last year detoxing from the dubs! I posted some of my thoughts on this last year on the brilliant be wise's thread (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/50558/1.ashx). Every so often I just stop and think "My God, how did I ever fall for it?" and more especially "How did my mum and dad and uncle and aunt and cousins and all my other family fall for it too?". The answers are not simple, I've definitely found that out – every day I come here I learn something new about human nature, about the borg, about psychology – eat yer heart out Awake, I'm getting' my college education 'ere! Thank you so much to Simon and Ang for providing an opportunity to meet such wonderful people as I've met on this forum.

Come to Kent
by mattnoel inthere has been a lot of patriotic talk going on which has caused a lot of arguments, i figured instead of all this badness it would be cool if we could share with each other why we love where we are and what we are part of so much and what causes us to be patriotic.. i love where i live so much so i wanted to share with you all a bit of my life.
ok so you will all probably find this boring but hey ho:.
here is the link to a short tourist film to my home county and my everyday surroundings, please have a look:.

Matt - I love Kent - why? Because it's near Calais - which means Cite Europe - which means CHEAP BOOZE!!! Not really, Kent is wonderful not just because it's the gateway to Europe, it has the most stunning countryside and architecture in Britain.

Cool site! I got 91/111 on Europe. I'm fine until I get to those weird piddling little countries in the East that used to be either in Yugoslavia or the Soviet Union!

Yea, be wise, congrats on your juniordom!!!! That cartoon made me think actually - sometimes when I think I'm free I get silly little nagging doubts as to whether I'm doing the right thing or not, and so maybe I'm not truly 100% free after all, it's really more of a learning curve.
Now that I've been here for one year exactly I've been remembering what I thought of this site when I first saw it. When I first looked at this forum, about a year earlier, I was still a faithful Jehovah's Witness. After reading one or two of the titles of the threads I was convinced that I felt the very presence of Satan - as if he was about to jump out of the monitor to corrupt my very soul! I quickly moved away and didn't return to this forum until some time after I had my personal Crisis of Conscience.
It took me a long time to register because my firewall was blocking the registration process. Did you ever think that Jehovah was directing your life, no matter how trivial a part of it was - in a sense protecting you? I remember having a thought that my continuing failure to register here was a sign that I wasn't really supposed to be here. You don't realise how ingrained it is within you until you have those silly moments - Duh! Anyway, eventually I figured out what I needed to do, and my first ever post here was instructions on how to configure this site for use with Norton's Internet Security!

Music artists who have died, and those you missed the most.....
by ScoobySnax inok with the death of nina simone today at 70, i got to thinking about other great artists who have died.
many would say elvis, but he wouldn't feature if i had to pick just 3. mine would go something like this.
3. tammy wynette (stand by your man was a song that'll always remind me of my grandad who died 10 years ago, always makes me smile and remember him, and her collaboration with the klf circa 1992. justified and ancient.

Edwin Starr - Now why did he pass away without making any major news bulletin? That's really sad, he knocked out some cracking chewns.
War - It ain't nothing but a heartbreaker, War - Friend only to the undertaker.
