Thanks for BTTT-ing this Perry, and thanks Tatiana for bringing this to our attention.

My view?

I am deeply skeptical as most studies that recommend circumcision (for instance endless Watchtower and Awake articles) are presented from a standpoint to justify a religious ceremonial ritual that an increasing amount of people see as just an archaic act of religious barbarity.

The question always is "Why did God ask us to do this, there must be a good reason!!?" and they try to come up with reasons to prove that God knows what?s best for his people. If God asked us to cut anything else off our anatomy there would be similar studies presented to try to justify why it should be done.

I don't think so - they are probably thinking that WE are like the Stasi and the husband represents a traitor in their midst... This is only speculation though, but I think Lucy is definitely on the right lines...

Lucy from Kent's forum has looked through the Watchtower in question and has sussed the reason, there is no mention of shutting down Internet sites in the magazine, however there is a quote there that suggests some kind of betrayal...

Yes, that looks very interesting. I spotted that too on Channel C, and put a link in on Kent's forum. Channel C is always worth a read - an excellent forum with many quality contributors.

Announcing that Elders are no longer Elders

in the past year or so a local congregation has had several announcements that "so-and-so is no longer serving as an elder.".

one of these elders has served in the watchtower organization since the 1940's.

one thing apparent is the "organization's" lack of recognition and/or appreciation for its own.

Yes, it always sounded just like a disfellowshipping or public reproval announcement. It always made me feel very uncomfortable. Many brothers and sisters felt the same and felt compelled to be extra friendly to the person in question after the meeting was over. It is a humiliation, despite what anyone says to the contrary and the way it's done certainly contributes to this feeling.

British have breath as bad as a dogs?

a report in the local paper said that a study showed 52% of britons had breath worse than a dog or a cat.. is it the kidney pie that does this?.

also who's dog and cat were the britons up against, maybe we would all fail this test?.

Really? Corona definitely has the look and smell of cat urine and tastes utterly disgusting, I wouldn't have thought it would do much for anyones breath.

united states?jehovah's witnesses have successfully completed their series of "give god glory" district conventions for 2003 in the 48 contiguous states.

Many people will have been counted twice, as many Witnesses attend more than one convention, probably cancelling out any extra ones over and above the publisher rate.
