Excellent advice. Thank you Euphemism for the tips. The referrer tag is one that gets a lot of people, especially when they are reporting info from a witness site to here or another ex-jw site. I would also recommend that nobody uses images from the sites, which happens when you copy and paste threads. It's best to do a print screen and save the clipboard as an image and post that instead.

is it true that they put some 'cream of the crop' bethelites through college depending on what field the society needs?

Many people are trained in Law and financed to work for the Watchtower Society, it's not uncommon at all. They can set up their own practice and make a lot of money. As long as they do the occasional case for the WTS for nothing of course.

I would certainly vote for it - I wouldn't have to worry about all this immigration crap and I could come and go when I want!
Seriously though, I think that Britain should do whatever it needs to do if it is proven to be in it's economic interests. They shouldn't hold back because of sentiment or emotion.
If creating a United States of Europe or even joining the USA increases the wealth and security of the people of the country, then Britain should go for whatever needs to be done and look forward instead of looking backward. -

Sending "Love" from the Platform
by RubaDub ini have never been able to understand the "the brothers from xyz cogregation are sending their love" at the end of a public talk.. it always seemed to occur when the speaker was from a far-away place.
then, we all have to clap when he rhetorically asks "do you want to send our love to them?".
they never seem to do it when it is a near-by congregation .. only one far away.

It's a great way of bragging about where you've been on holiday! If you've been somewhere exotic and expensive, you want the whole congregation to know! More echoes of Hyacinth Bucket I think!

When there was a Kingdom News being released, there was absolute hysteria amongst the brothers and sisters - it's as if the next big campaign will be "the final push" before Armageddon. We all waited with baited breath at the earth shattering message! The content of the tract was always kept a closely guarded secret until they are finally distributed amongst the congregations.
In the Kingdom News campaigns, there was an all-out effort in the congregations I attended, even more so than when there was a Circuit Overseers visit. Nobody was excused - all the book study overseers made sure of it! The object was that every man woman and child in the area gets to see a copy before the end of the particular campaign. I remember our Service Overseer telling us a few days before the end of one Kingdom News campaign that we weren't doing as well as other congregations in the circuit, and we had to catch up! There was a lot of competition amongst the congregations as to who would get through the territory the quickest. -

Jehovah's Witnesses sometimes feature in horror flicks, usually because they inadvertently call on a raving mad psychopath. There?s a horror flick called "Skinned Alive", where a Jehovah's Witness, amongst others, gets, you guessed it, skinned alive! There is another movie called "Las Vegas Bloodbath" where another poor Witness gets wasted in an unpleasant way. -

his morning tv show has been axed for the time being and the cre are looking into the matter.

I've heard a lot of ignorant emotionally-driven rants like this from many sources - but not from such a high profile celebrity. The problem now is that grubby British tabloids such as the Express and the Sun and particularly the Daily Mail will probably now use the opportunity to jump on the bandwaggon, preaching hatred, making vulnerable minorities feel even more insecure than they are now. It's very sad.
