Too Dang HOT!!
by caligirl ini just stepped out into my back yard and thought i was going to melt.
i was going to fill up the inflatable pool for my son, but by the time it gets filled up, the water will be about 90 and not worth the bother.
i'm sure that other california people can relate to this.

Former sisters, remember the pant suit controversy in the seventies?
by Sunnygal41 ini was in my late 'teens, working for my own money, and polyester pant suits were all the rage in fashion.
working at mc'donald's, i was able to afford two nice matching suits, with the jacket and vest, and a matching shirt...........these i wore to meetings, when i went.
then, the jw grapevine went into action, regarding the suitablity for a sister to be wearing pants at a meeting.

I remember my father coming back from an Elder meeting back in the 80’s absolutely stunned at the stupidity of the subject of one particular motion. It was asked at this meeting if culottes (pants that look like skirts – many of which are indistinguishable from regular skirts) should be permitted as acceptable meeting and service wear for sisters. He couldn't believe that such a pointless and petty thing would be discussed at a meeting. Apparently at the end of the discussion he was outvoted and a ban on culottes was passed. I joked at the time that one of the young Ministerial Servants should be assigned to inspect suspiciously trouser-like skirts at the door as the sisters came in.

Iron Maiden rumour
by stapler99 ini wonder if anyone has heard of this, or whether it is completely made up... the story is that iron maiden (the rock band) took pictures from the revelation book and put them on their album covers, and were therefore threatened by the wts lawyer dept., demanding that they sent them the covers to be destroyed.

i don't know why im would want to plagarize the smelly revelation book anyway ;-)
