  id love to catch up with anyone near cardiff or within that circuit.

  i used to be in barry congregtion but my parents were so well known and 'in' it, we went to tons of different congregations around there.

  anyone know what offspring song jw's were warned against listening to???

  i vaguely remember it was on their 'smash' album (it's either the song that goes "..demons in my head.." or the one called genocide).

  Ozzie has often said that the only black magic the Sabbath ever got into was the chocolates. I still remember an elder telling me when I was little that KISS stood for "Kids In Satan's Service".

  To be truthful, I have to hide away my CDs and LPs when the Circuit Overseer comes to tea, basically because we are only allowed to listen to Kingdom Melodies, George Benson, Hank Marvin and Don Rendell if we are good little Christians.

  Dateline in the UK?

  forgive me if this information has already been put out but what is the situation for us brits wanting to see the dateline show?.

  i've got the full sky digital package and see that dateline goes out on channel 510 (cnbc) but there is no clue as to our show.. any help?.

  Hi Kathrin, welcome to the sanctuary!

  Cardiff eh? Quite familiar to JWs from far and wide. I know you always have a Convention at Cardiff, but it’s been at Ninian Park for quite a while now – and lets be honest, City’s ground is a dump! It does keep 'em nicely away from the city centre though, doesn't it?!

  And of course, it generally isn’t the last assembly, that honour usually goes to Twickenham - But... Now at last the Millennium Stadium is going to be dubified! Just when you thought it was safe to walk down St Mary’s Street! Plus the fact that it will also be the very last convention in the UK, there will then be the inevitable saddo Sunday last-day-of-term day-trippers that Twickenham usually gets, plus you will get the big bethel cheeses giving the Sunday talks.

  so...the km for may has an outline re internet use.

  once again we are admonished to stay away as some sites are deceptive in that they say they promote jw's...but be aware!!

  they actually slander...slander the witnesses.. i can only assume they mean this board and the silentlambs site first and foremost - so if the elders weren't aware of these sites...they are now...the rest of us (barr me) are sitting there enthralled... .

  DATELINE - WHY THE CONFUSION ?

  people are posting tuesday may 28 / 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 10pm as start times on the east coast.

  why is this being done when the dateline website shows 10 pm.

  (Change the record Matt!) Same with the UK. Some TV guides (my online cable guide included) are 1 hour out with CNBC Europe. They don't mention that times are in CET. So tune in on Saturday night at Midnight, not 1:00.

  Larc, that’s spot on. But what about family pressures?

  In these kind of circumstances, a "believing" spouse would be genuinely frightened of losing their mate, wouldn’t they – and so they may talk emotively about the “new system” and the “reward” to them, piling on the pressure, giving them new hope for the future - reminding them of why they turned to religion before. This can happen in any religion – just substitute “new system” with “heaven” (and of course hell!). Someone who has left a religion may be fooled all over again – all due to the demonstrativeness of his or her family. You need the courage of your convictions when this happens.
