I have just come back to this thread. I did not mean to offend anyone, it was just my impetuous dumb-ass idea of a joke. I realise it's rather inappropriate of me to make light of something that has caused genuine upset here.
Many apologies
just poking through the archives of the last few days.... what the hell has happened here!?!.
no more moe, gravedancer, or bakedcanuck?!.

what tune does it play?.
what tune would you really like to hear it play?.
mine's set to "the entertainer" (the theme from the sting), however i would really like it to play something more appropriate.
I was talking about my phone Viv! Get thee behind me! You are a constant source of stumbling to me!

I'm a quiet chap!
Most of the time mine just vibrates, just in case it's a call from one of my apostate buddies and I'm with my family! And if a mobile phone goes off at my workplace we have to pay a fine to charity!
has anyone read the latest article in sept km & 9/15 wt on the the snares of e-mail & internet?edited by - deli king on 20 august 2002 21:16:30.
Back in the 70's VCRs were definitely frowned upon, now they have become their main propoganda tool!
In the early 60's the twist was thought of as an evil dance that promoted sexual immorality. 40 years later at every witness do they play Chubby Checker!
I have also been to witness receptions where there has been a proper disco with DJ, and I have also been to some where there was no dancing at all. Have you noticed that someone is always "stumbled" about something, and leaves in a huff? At the end of the day you can rarely please everyone at these kind of dos! Me? I'm always in the kitchen, doing the washing up!
I am still an active witness, and have been to many witness wedding receptions, I also live in the UK, maybe it's different in the USA or Canada. The only occasions that I recall that confetti/rice throwing was banned was when the local council instructed not to throw it because it caused unnecessary litter. The ritualistic cutting of the cake I have seen at every one. Although as far as tossing the bouquet is concerned, I have never seen anyone tossing at a witness reception!
Virtually everything as far as weddings are concerned is of pagan origin, from the ritualistic cutting of the cake to the throwing of rice or confetti. Strangely Witnesses don't seem to worry about these customs, they certainly aren't banned! Typical inconsistency.
i always had a fear as an active jw, that i would not like life in the new world that i would not like to be perfect.
to never make a mistake, that would mean you would never get to kiss and make up.
i would never get to watch a real football game, and porn would be completely out of the question.
My avatar is a bit of a tribute to the New World! Why does everybody have to have a Chaise longue? And what if you don't like eating grapes all day? In the new system maybe eating tons of grapes won't give you the runs! Why is there always some geek playing a guitar? And only Kingdom Melodies of course, no Drum & Bass or Two Step or Progressive Trance!! No, I never liked the Watchtower's idea of paradise at all!
