You can understand the bewilderment and confusion when it simply doesn't work, can't you?
I was told that bridesmaids were pagan and are originally intended to be decoys to confuse evil spirits and protect the bride!
A typical Incursion would be like this I guess:
"Ooh, which one is the bride? We're confused!"
"Hey, lets sort out that lady over there, she looks like a bride to me, big long dress and flowers and stuff!"
"Dash it, I've just done some evil violating on one of her friends by mistake, the bride has got away!!!"

I'm trying to give up calling people folk. You hear it all the time at the hall and in the publications. I've only recently realised that real folk, erm, people never use that word!
being raised as a witness, i was taught to have nothing to do with worldly people.
as long as they were not dedicated, baptized worshippers of jehovah, they were considered as wicked ones that would soon be destroyed at armaggedon.
in school and later, at work, i tried to keep a safe distance from anyone not a witness.
I am still considered good association in my congregation! Little do they know!!
Anyway, I was always told to "be friendly but don't be friends". I complied. Now I know why of course, it's the cleverest of the clever tricks designed to keep you in! I know I've mentioned this before but I have worked for the same organisation for many years. A lot of my work colleagues have known me for a very long time. I have changed beyond all recognition in the last six months. These poor people just don't know what to make of me now I don't consider them as bad association, I now say "Yes" to them instead of "No, I can't do that because it's contrary to my religious beliefs"!
i am becoming a lot less active here these days, not that i was ever extremely active

sirona is going back into the hospital today for more surgery.
she will be going under general anesthesia to have more biopsies done.. i know its always scary to "go under.

Ooh, don't get me started. I used to have a copy of the 1969 programme but it dissapeared. It was a thick booklet with all sorts of info in it including which buses you need to get you to Wembley stadium from various parts of London!
Modern programmes are crap!

This was fun to look at for a geek like me.
I remember the programmes used to have the speakers names and information specific to that particular location. Now they do the cheaper option and print the same one for all the conventions. You still see some dubbies write the bruvvas name on the programmme. You have to remember that d-con speakers are little celebrities in the Jdub world!
Actually I was a incorrect and unspecific when I talked about the rice/confetti thing, I bunched the two items together.
I have never actually been to a Jehovah's Witness wedding where rice has been thrown but I certainly have been to many where confetti has been thrown.
Yes I've heard about the rice being a symbol of fertility, throwing it at them will make them breed quicker; and also the cutting of the cake being... well, lets just say the knife is the symbol of the groom and the cake is the symbol of the beautiful virginial bride!
