I wasn't aware that Smiley Central was full of spyware. I couldn't find anything on the net that was negative about it and so I presumed it was kosher. I don't have it on my PC because I don't use Internet Explorer, I would probably have loaded it if it became available for Mozilla/Netscape. Thanks for the info.

SYN Is Moving To Brisbane!!!
by SYN inwell, more than a few people on this site and elsewhere know about this already...i managed to land a job in brisbane, australia.
i'll probably arrive there before the 5th of january.. this means that i won't be able to post very much for the forseeable future, but i'm still holding my supreme post in reserve for something new i've been writing recently.... i'm going to go and work for pandemic studios (www.pandemicstudios.com).
mostly i just wanted to thank all the amazing australian people who've been helping me out with information and things during the past couple of weeks - you guys rock!

Well done SYN! Great news!
Now who is going to represent South Africa in the ex-JW world? For a country with such a huge population it's odd we don't have one or two others to fill your shoes. -

When did the watchtower become a cult?
by Gadget infrom looking at various cult information, and warning signs of an unsafe group i beleive the jw's to be a cult, but how did they become one?
it started as a religious periodical in the 1870s, and somehow progressed to being a faith, a religion, and then from there progressed to become a cult.
when did this happen, and how?

I know what you mean Ang. Benny Hill was quite funny sometimes, but no funnier than say, Paul Hogan or Kenny Everett who had a similar style of humour.

Yes, Peter Kay is a genius.
BTW Father Ted is not a British comedy show, so it shouldn't be on this list, although I think that it certainly is the funniest show on the list. -

The Watchtower and Awake! on audiocassette
by Nosferatu inwhen did the society begin putting the magazines on audiocassette?
did any of you ever go for these things?
do your watchtower study while driving to work?
-
Matty
...prerecorded cassettes normally didn't go over the 90min length...
Does the whole Watchtower and Awake get read on the cassettes? I'm not sure how long it would normally take to read a whole magazine - I kinda thought it would be longer than 90 minutes. I know that when you buy a book on cassette it's usually abridged (unless you get them from people who normally distribute to the blind).
