2. There was an old dude in one congregation who, when giving the Godly View of Sex and Marriage talk, said it was a good idea not to have chocolates or spices, or worcestershire sauce, before bed. "It will irritate the body openings and you will want to comfort yourself." He said brothers should sleep with their arms and hands out of the blankets so they didn't comfort themselves.

told my parents to never ever tell me they love me again....
by oompa in...i told them in a very serious sitdown in their living room....said..."because if you cant show it then it does not count...that is not real love no matter who tells you it is....because it is how it makes me feel that determines if it is love....not if you just say it...and me and my sons do not feel that love at all now"....and i stayed calm and talked slowly and barely shed a tear as i held them back...and i had asked them to not say a word but just listen...dad said they would as long as it was not about religion as i knew he would.
this was two of the worst days of my life in a row..i told them the pain me and my boys feel from their shunning is worse than if they had died...that then i could grieve naturally and move on because that is normal....grief helps you cope...my grief is different because they choose to act like i am dead and normal grief does not seem to work on that.
i shared an epiphany with them i had about mens rules vs gods great idea of dna (but no i am not sure about a god anymore)it went kinda like this:.

Anything that covered anything to do with sex or masterbation. UGGHHH!!! I hated those studies. I remember a few years ago there was a Watchtower article on sex and oral sex came up in one of the paragraphs. The elder doing the study is this really oldschool guy so he asked the question, "Just to be absolutely clear, is oral sex permitted by bible standards?" Crickets. Then this old crotchety woman, the kind that hasn't had sex since Russell was alive, raises her hand and boldly condemns the "immoral practice." All the young people were looking at thier feet.
I think that was the most interesting watchtower I've studied, now that I think of it.

Did YOU Actually Believe That You Would Never Die?

Not that there's anything wrong with that! I'm just saying that she gave up a great oppurtunity to knock on doors and now that she doesn't do that anymore, she can't find a job.

Funny Minimus, I have a family member that righteously gave up a full scholarship to a high ranking university so she could pioneer. Now she's a stay at home mom.

MrQuik: Maybe that explains the difference. We've dealt with death in our family because most of my family came in because of my grandparents. They were both Catholic before converting so I don't think they ever thought they would "see" the end and prepared for death just in case.

Dr Laura Schlesinger Rant
by Iconoclast ini don't know if this is accurate or not.
it's on of those fb chain letter thingys but it's awesome and i'd thought i would share:.
in her radio show, dr laura schlesinger said that, as an observant orthodox jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance.

That's like telling the woman who conceived a child from a rape "Well, it wasn't all bad, was it?"
Were you a second, third generation JW?

I've already posted it on my FB. I have this one guy I went to college with that I swear is trying to become a televangelist. He's started his own bible group on FB and keeps recruiting kookie people. His posts are so WEIRD! Not even biblically based. Just odd. Like this one that he just posted:
Christ said "I'll be back" well before Arnold did. Except he's known as the Resurrector ;)
Whaaaaa??? Anyway, he threw a hissy when I posted it. LOVE IT!

I remember an CO that gave a talk once when I was younger and the only thing I remember about the talk was him describing the death of my friends at school and them looking up at me asking "Why didn't you tell me? You could have preached to me and warned me but you didn't want to tell me!" The talk was about informal witnessing. And I hated informal witnessing.
