  You do present a good possibility as a way out. Preservationists are tinkering with lots and lots of ways to do what they have to do, while hardliners have their arms folded, screaming for more control ...

  Barbara has in effect told you how she got there. She was selected for her loyalty and long-time service, yes. She was a good little girl <cough> who would do what she was told and keep her mouth shut. IMNSHO she is a unique combination of head and heart. They overlooked that.

  Both head and heart were affected in that position. Can you spell cognitive dissonance?

  She learned more than both she and they had bargained for.

  No stomach for reviewing that Nethinim thing again. It's simply a strained analogy that proved to be more embarassing than apt. Are there assistants? Of course. What's stupid was to trot out that hewers of wood and drawers of water nonsense as having application in this way, thrilling new light.

  Dateline....Not this week.......

  i was just sitting here thinking about the many times people have asked about the airing of the dateline segment.. well, just a thought.

  we can move this post up to the top once a week until the show does finally air.

  this way people will not ask all the time?.

  There is a PBS program on Hare Krishna's problems with pedophilia and coverup. Already played in some parts of the country.

  Persons who have watched it say they will never view this group again with anything less than contempt.

  What will be most effected by Dateline is the view of the public, many of whom will never feel the same again about that innocent kookie religion that wakes you up in the morning. Is that smiling guy with the too-short tie and polyester who knocks at your door a pedophile? Is he one of those who choose to cover up child abuse?

  Americans are familiar with child molestation; that story is not new. I suspect they are going to be extremely unforgiving about coverup, failure to care for the child, rather their paranoid concern over protecting God's organization--must be fragile.

  The organization paints apostates as those who like to deceive with smooth talk. Dateline viewers are going to see who the real smooth talkers are, and how they have tried to deceive. Stories of victims will ring true.

  But let's tell it like it is. I know a number of JWs who are actually expecting to hear at the October 7 meeting, when Armageddon is really going to come!

  Is Canadian child abuse policy identical to the U.S., or is it that of Great Britain?
  
  Or Kenya?

  Or Bulgaria? (Where they really dig Human Rights issues.)

  No guesses; just quote it verbatim, or better yet supply a copy. It's coming anyway, so why not be the first on your block to participate?

  thanks, barbara and max for the inside view of bethel and the gb.

  i am now almost certain that brooklyn bethel and patterson are the antitypical "shittem" and that is borne out by their work, the titles they give themselves and the ones who serve them.

  surely this is but a miniature fulfillment of the prophecy with a major fulfillment on the global scale showing that the shittem of jerusalem's day was small indeed by comparison.

  Well, the GB have one-way conversations with everybody but themselves.
  And to God. Clearly that has been one-way too.

  They have had a history of paying attention to NO ONE outside their mutual preening society--that is, except for the Legal Department, now running the show and trying to shovel the elephant dung that's clearly all over the place.

  Now you tell the straight truth.

  When you went to the big elder training school, weren't you told that you got the BEST TRAINING ON EARTH?

  Which is it, JR? Are your boys in the field the BEST TRAINED or simply bumpkins who "screw up" out in the field because they are "untrained volunteers."

  And the circuit and district overseers don't give no directions? What are they, potted plants who just report numbers back and read letters word for word? Society could save a ton of money by cutting them birds off, since they aren't pulling their weight.

  a troubled child with vacant eyes sits quietly alone with not much to say,.

  he killed her puppy and said she would be next if she told her friends at play.. a father who betrayed her trust, violated her innocence and left her emotionally numb,.
