Is claiming your baptism null and void an exit plan?
by awakening ini have read some of you talking about baptism not being a legaly binding contract as, for most it was undertaken as a minor.
has anyone successfuly nulled their baptism and exited free of consequence?.

When i sat with 2 elders 2 weeks ago I mentioned that I was NOT recommended for baptism back when I was 16 by last elder to do questions with me.
I said I did NOT answer YES to two baptism questions because during talk I realized I had not said a prayer of dedication.
I said I was afraid and humiliated and too scared to step out of line and not go get dunked so I did.
All true events = my baptism is null and void,,,,elder manual says elders CANNOT override...it is between God and me.
I just don't know if I should write a letter to make it official, I don't want that to lead to sanctioned shunning by elder body.

THIS NEEDS ITS OWN THREAD:: TODAY's WT Paragraph 16
by Lied2NoMore inhere is what got my spidey senses tingling: paragraph 16, reference to daniel p mannix book, was wondering if his statement was mis-quoted so i did my research.......but was even more shocked when i saw this: .
from amazon dot com reviews................ probably the most provocative work of historical fiction published this century,"those who are about to die" is pure mannix at his best.
a uncensured exploration of what likely took place in the circuses of ancient rome.

I like all the discussion. Isn't it nice to have open and free dialogue without fear of WT labeling any of us apostate and DF-ing us?
That said, until I get this book in hand and read it, for sure it can be said book was written to sensationalize gory details of Rome. It also can be said author did NOT eyewitness the events he wrote about. So there must be references. As said, why is WT using a book like this when they would condemn anyone who went to see "Gladiator" or "Passion of the Christ" or even asking Ridley Scott or Mel Gibson to be a credible source of historical accuracy to be used in WT publication?
They made a statement of fact in paragraph 16 and used a gory novel to support the statement of fact. There has to be some reference to support statement used. I will dig until I find the answer but WT was stupid to grab a snippet like that to use in a study article. Or they just think no one will question anything they say or do.

Once I have the actual book in hand...if it is factual and based on research there will be references from his research listed in the book. If no refrences this needs its own topic heading on jwfacts dot com / jwsurvey dot com...etc. I volunteer to write the article if they will post it

If you Wiki Daniel P Mannix you will read how deeply military he and his family was. How he was a sideshow circus performer a sword swallowed, NOTHING about him being a bible researcher, historian, professor, or ANY type of authority on biblical events.
Why does GB need commentary from this guy about bible history? Don't they know all? If I went out and read outside literature and used commentary to refute WT teachings it would mean DF for me
