Governing Body Running Scarred and 12-13-14 "Might Be the End"?
by RottenRiley inthis went bad, i hit click before i could post my thoughts about the fear factor going through our crazy kingdom hall.
the title of this thread was aimed at asking why the governing body is becoming so afraid and demanding the elders and rank and file to put their trust in the dukes of the kingdom hall.
(pslams 146:3).. .

Suggestions for car buying
by FlyingHighNow inif you were a lady and you were 55 and had $5,000 or less to spend on a used car, what would buy?
top concerns: good mpg; reliable; in not having major issues like ball joints breaking, timing belts breaking, etc.
not too expensive to maintain.

No Cadillac either....the perfect cheap reliable easy to fix 4wd vehicle is a chevy blazer....tons of them made...4.3 v6 is bulletproof..and for five grand you can get a hell of a nice one that will look and drive like new...just buy an adult driven one

I used to be in car repair and was once a certified master auto tech...my advise?
Do not buy a used audi ..volvo...bmw...saab...pick a car that has been in production a long time...a car that has sold to millions of buyers....reason? Parts to repair are plentiful...cheaper....and mechanics have more experience with cars they see alot meaning less chance for errors while fixing..
Dont buy anything supercharged...turbo..all wheel drive...4 wheel drive is ok...the above mentioned cars will have you in the poor house when they need repairs
my two pennies worth

I am under the impression JW do not celebrate NYE, is that correct?
by nonjwspouse inmy husband on his own went out and got fireworks for our daughter and her friend to set off tonight.
he did this with no prompting at all from me.
in fact, i get nervious around fireworks, so i grimiced a bit when he told me.. but, wow, again, if this is another step showing he is not allowing himself under the complete spell of the wt.

Celebrating anything fun is wrong because the WT wants everyone who is being stepped on by them to be miserable

No more doubts for me! Good-bye JWN! We have THE TRUTH!
by DATA-DOG ini could go on and on about my personal journey over the last 2 years or so, but i don't need to.
everything i needed to hear to finally lay my doubts to rest happened on one meeting night.
it could only be divine providence.

So let me get this straight...jewhovah confused the minds of those building the tower of babel so they couldn't communicate...
Now jewhovah is powerless to reverse what he did back then but can help to make a print system that makes communication possible thru printing in many languages....
So all the printing of publications by the MEPS system that have been disposed of due to predictions gone awry and doctrine flops has been used to publish...OLD LIGHT!
I wonder how many trees have died to be used to publish "old light"

According to JW.org it's now ok to celebrate xmas.....pass it on! Faders..Lurkers...SEE THIS
by Lied2NoMore inone fb friend posted the faq link about "why dont jw's celebrate xmas?
" after reading the link i concluded that it is either another collossal lie the wt is telling, or it is now ok to celebrate x-mas!.

It would be more honest to just say JWs don't celebrate xmas because they will be disfellowshiped if they do.
Honest and to the point.

Yea yea I know its just complete and total BS...the fact is there is no clarification or exception stated...but it WOULD be fun to throw this in the face of elders and ask them why the WT chooses to lie or mislead people on their official web site...that there are two sets of rules for insiders and outsiders

One FB friend posted the FAQ link about "Why dont JW's celebrate xmas?" After reading the link I concluded that it is either another COLLOSSAL LIE the WT is telling, OR it is NOW OK to celebrate X-mas!
See for yourself:
From JW.org FAQ:
The Bible encourages us to think for ourselves, to use our “ power of reason. ” (Romans 12:1, 2) It teaches us to value the truth. (John 4:23, 24) So while we are interested in how others view us, we adhere to Bible principles even if it means that we become unpopular.
Although we choose not to celebrate Christmas ourselves, we respect each person’s right to decide for himself in this matter. We do not interfere in the Christmas celebrations of others.
SO, based on the last two paragraphs, we can use our own "powers of reason" and decide for ourselves to celebrate or not!
They say they won't interfere!
If you decide to celebrate and the elders want to meet to discuss this, USE THIS AGAINST THEM...tell them to F*CK OFF since the official JW.org website says there will be NO interference from them!
I would love to hear anyone here use this and hear what the response is!! (Recorded is even better)

Christmas Field Service
by NeverKnew inon another thread, i read that a few adherents may be traveling (cough-cough) to other cities and wouldn't be able to make field service on christmas day.. what is the likelihood that going out on christmas will be encouraged at the weekend services at the khs?
...or do most halls stay neutral on this?
given what i've read on this forum, i have the impression that disrespecting a day of other's celebration wouldn't be discouraged which annoys the heck out of me..

Yea I always was hesitant to go out on holidays...even though I have been inactive for 2 and a half years I know of one super mentally unbalanced family in the congo I'm supposed to attend that will for sure be out and think any in the hall that don't go out are trash...most hateful bunch of people I have ever known...

10 Years out of the JW Organization- What I've Learned ( For what it's Worth)
by flipper in10 years ago i stopped attending jehovah's witness meetings for good.
walked out of the kingdom hall cold turkey never to return based on injustices i observed among others and myself at the hands of elders giving out not god's counsel but personal opinions as counsel .
some of them weren't even giving out wt society counsel- just personal opinions.

Amen...and I would love to meet you and hang out sometime if I ever head west I will seek to meet up.
Another ugly byproduct of the WT machine is the elitist mentality spreads and even one JW is never good enough for another and the hateful gangrene of separation and class distinctions are in full swing even amongst fellow JWs. People are being abused by each other in rabid form in the organization and it grows worse by the day....I want out but family is still in for most part...so still exposed to all the shit still...hate it
You expressed yourself impeccably
