First, I'm shocked Herd went to school. So much ignorance in the WT. And yes, stupid threats that sound the same as 100 years ago.

Grissom: If you are sincere, people try to help. But we love to cut up wise-asses who have IQ's of 40 and below. If you are a JW, you don't belong here. Isn't it against your rules to visit these sites? I'm glad you are reading the material, it might help you leave that cult forever. But if you are here to spout WT bullshit, we've all heard it. That's one reason we left. No current JW has ever posted here while trying to be superior and gotten away with it. And none ever will. I for one don't want to see truly sincere JW's and others reading these comments to listen to any more of your bullshit than they have to. They get enough at the meetings. At least here they should be able to hear the real "truth". Why don't you give me your P.O.'s phone number and his name and also give me yours. I'd love to see you meeting with the elders.

I'm sure if any JW saw green paper money flying around in the street, they'd run over and try to get all they could. Then it's off to Dunkin' Donuts.

What is your strangest "supernatural" JW story?

i had just became a witness and a guy i worked with, who was also a jw, told me a story that actually made me laugh and i think it upset him a bit.

the storys were almost always in the third person.

it went as follows.. this brothers wife and him were sitting at the kingdom hall on the end seats of the row next to the back of the room.

I heard that same story with the book being thrown off the train and hitting someone. It was back in 1977 in New Jersey. Jesus, that one must get around.

Listening to a talk on rendering the "marital due" (Jesus, what a god damn stupid euphenism) and realizing your wife hasn't been in the mood for the past two months. And realizing that half of the sisters in the 1980's wore dresses with hideous floral patterns halfway down their shins and had shoulder pads sewn in so they could block any tackle you tried in order to take them down.

Then, as a book study conductor, having a brother approach you and ask if masturbation is a sin even though he's married, because his wife is trying to earn her salvation using "chastity points", earned by NOT having sex with her husband and coming out of the bathroom wrapped in five towels so that nothing shows. And you eagerly grab a WT bound volume since YOU want to know the answer as well because your wife and his wife are both using "theocratic virginity" to make it through Armageddon. And if you want children, she will try the method Mary used to have Jesus.

I also miss not seeing the $250,000 chandelier in the Jersey City Assembly Hall which reminded all of us that our meeting places are "humble, modest, and not gaudy or materialistic". In addition, I don't get to see a new parking attendant who is 16 years old trying to direct traffic in the 8 level deep underground parking garage across the street from Jersey City and see him direct traffic in such a way that two cars crashed either into each other or into a steel beam.

Working in first aid because I was a servant and my ex-wife is a nurse and seeing several dozen sisters come up and try to ask my ex-wife for "feminine items" while trying not to blush or let me know why they were there (like I didn't) and me wondering how dumb all these women could be for leaving home for 16 hours and not bringing what they needed. (I should have put up a "donation" box. I wonder how that would be recorded? Operating expense or donations to the "worldwide work".)

Being forced to take chocolate pudding (tasted like it was made at the farm) instead of safe vanilla and watching your two year old ruin her little dress, her hair, her face and hands, not to mention the seat.

Resurrection Hope - People in the Future who think they have lived before

according to the watchtower, a resurrected being is a body that has placed within it the memories and attributes of a person who had lived before.. the "life force" is transferred to the body to bring it alive.

also according to the watchtower, the "life force" is impersonal and contains no personality.

it is like electricity in that it is an actuating force.. ok, so in the future there will be billions of people with memories of having lived on the earth.

I've always been confused about the verse saying, "the former things will not be called to mind", or similar. Which ones? Just the bad ones? All of them? If someone living today, JW or not, dies before Armageddon, does he remember going to meetings, being part of a human family, etc.? Do those brutally killed get to forget those memories for eternity? I would think people who survive Armageddon (if that's how it works) plus those who died this year and maybe Armageddon is ten years away, would want to remember their children being born and the wonderful memories they have of them growing up (learning to walk, to talk, the whole works).

How is all this going to be decided?

almost everyone who leaves the watchtower organization acknowledges the fact that the jehovahs witnesses leadership is quite masterful when it comes to using guilt as a means of motivation and coercion.

throughout the watchtower articles, convention talks, and talks given by traveling overseers, there are often statements woven into the material that are designed to evoke feelings of guilt in those who are not robotically falling in line with all organizational programs and group-think.

in addition to the many cliches, buzzwords, and catch-phrases used in watchtower material, the organization also makes comparisons between the field service activities of witnesses in one part of the world to another part of the world.

I'm very surprised that they are selling this car. It is a FOUR door car. I thought these were sacred relics?? Now if it was a TWO door car, it would probably be sold in the middle of the night to a chop shop in NYC.

Just as a joke, I was wondering if some of you with a good sense of humor might post a few reasons why it would be good or bad to buy a car from the WT. I assume most of these would be CO's former cars. District O's probably have limos, right? It can't be the GB since most of them are so old they've probably had their driver's licenses revoked. They don't need them anyway because they walk on air. No, that's not it. They walk on WATER. That's the right attitude for a JW to have.

I liked your comments about "food at the proper time". If the WT was serving "meat in due season", several questions come to mind. A few are: Knowing now that every single teaching from 1914-1919 has been altered or abandoned, why and how could the WT continue to point to this "proof"?? They look like lying assholes.

The other question no JW will answer for me is "Why would God want "spoiled meat" to be served to his people?" Why make them sick? What was the point of all the Mosaic Law rules on food and hygiene if all of the food was spoiled? Would anyone today, whether WT people, rank and file JW's, or even the public, want to eat food that would have them in the ER clinging to life?

And ignoring the safety of the meat, what purpose does this meat serve? Did JW's serve God better? Did more people become JW's because the bad meat brought them in and the WT figured it could take care of any "upset stomachs" after everyone joined? If anything, the WT destroyed its credibility (not that it had much left) and now is venturing into the area of perjury, idiocy, lunacy, and appearing to be a cross between Jim Jones and Adolf Hitler.

If anyone does the math, it's obvious that this can't work in the long run. Many have said that the top guys are trying to salvage the assets and "get out of town" before the collapse. Are 12 old idiotic men going to flee to South America with 50 million dollars apiece? If any of the GB are really going to get into trouble, I hope they get Ted Jaracz first. It's too bad most of them are too old to serve much prison time, but I'd pay good money to see that bastard taken out permanently.

I'm sorry for veering off course but I don't know how to start a new topic and have it put into Net Soup. Today on MSN there is a story about "Why JW's don't vote." It discusses two sisters who are JW's and are tennis pros. There names are Serena Williams and Venus. One said she liked Barak but wouldn't be voting and the other wouldn't even discuss the issue. The article went on to say that in 1999 there was a WT article leaving it up to the individual but still laying out the reasons that it's wrong.

Does anyone know what the latest policy is on voting? I'll contact the moderator later for instructions about using the forum.

I got the book from Lulu and also the hard copy. I've been in touch with Don over the years because he lives in the same city I was born in. I don't know if he wants that made public so I won't.

The book makes its most powerful point by dealing with the "food at the proper time" BS. It's been said a million times but again: If Russell walked into a K. Hall today, he'd be disfellowshipped for apostasy. Isn't it bad enough that the teachings changed and therefore disqualified the WT from being the "faithful slave"? But to PUNISH those who today still believe the doctrines that supposedly meant the world to Jesus Christ when he inspected the insane asylum (SORRY, the WT) is so ludicrous that any JW who is shown the main points in the book and still remains a JW has an IQ equal to a plant. No, that's wrong, I shouldn't insult plants. The IQ of a rock. That's better.

It wasn't until I took Abnormal Psychology when getting my degree that I started to see many behaviors that JW's exhibit and where in the "chart of mental disorders" (look it up, it's excellent reading) they fit. We've all seen the analogy made here about the emporer's new clothes and how easily people will go "stupid" and why. I think the JW's are even worse. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I once heard an ex-JW claim that if the WT announced at a convention that all the sisters between the ages of 20 and 30 had to immediately take their clothes off and dance on stage, that dozens of them would stand up and start walking up the steps, probably looking at each other to see who was going to be first. I know that won't quite happen that badly, but they are close.

Oh, and the "light getting brighter". Where the hell does it say anything in the Bible about that verse applying to today's servants of God? (Which the JW's are NOT.) If the light is so god damn "bright", then why does the WT get more things wrong with each passing year? And why do they look more idiotic as time passes?

Remember this? Rule #1- The Customer is Always Right. Rule #2- If you have any questions or objections, see Rule #1. Wow, that's so intelligent!!!

Okay. Now for the WT's rules.

RULE # 1 - The Watchtower is always right.

RULE # 2 - If you doubt this, see RULE # 1.

RULE # 3 - No matter how many times we flip flop, contradict ourselves, or publish doctrines that would make Jesus choke to death, no matter how stupid we look, no matter how badly we break every Bible principle from Genesis to Revelations, no matter what evidence is brought against us, see RULE # 1.

RULE # 4 - If Jehovah God, Jesus Christ, and millions of angels show up in the sky and they all tell the WT it is wrong, is a baby-raping cult, is run by lunatics, and they officially denounce the WT as condemned in their eyes, it's only Satan playing a trick on the faithful servants of Jehovah God. SEE RULE # 1 AGAIN AND STOP BOTHERING TO READ ANYTHING AFTER RULE # 1 BECAUSE YOU ONLY NEED RULE # 1.

In closing, I'd like to recommend that people buy both the book and the PDF. (Copying the PDF into MS Word mangles the entire book unless you are an expert in Word.) The book is good to show JW's at the door and the PDF is good to have as backup.
