Karter good for you!! Was born 2 years too late to see last time my beloved, albeit lousy, Cleveland Indians won the World Series. Planning on many more years, but don't think it will happen in my life time. -

What more do they need to see?
by stuckinarut2 inso bethelites are being decreased...bethel homes even sold off.... special pioneers no longer being funded.. magazines getting smaller and published less frequently.. building work stopping or being reduced.. no large conventions and renting of venues.. etc.... so, money is not coming in anymore to cover the "expenses"??.
didnt the first ever watchtower said that when this occurs, it would be evidence of god no longer blessing the activity....
oh, and throughout the years, we have constantly been told that the "growth of the org and the projects such as buildings and contributions" etc were evidence of gods blessing.... .

I ask myself this all the time and wonder WTF is wrong with my seemingly intelligent relatives. And these are ones who are in their 60's and some reaching 70 now so we were around during the 1975 hoopla. Our parents are all gone now, you know, the ones who weren't supposed to grow old and die, and now we are all growing old. I just don't know. Will they just go on until they are dead too or will there be one really big incident that is so "out there" that it will cause a mass awakening, because all these other things, one after another sure ain't doing it! -

On respect for the belief of others. Sorry for the long post
by StarTrekAngel ini am inclined to start this thread in response to some comments made in other threads.
i have been coming around these forum for quite some time now so whatever you find in here is not just related to something someone may have said this week.
it can go months back as well.. i have seen many who claim to respect the belief of others but when it comes down to applying it into practice, things take a whole different tune.

STA Number 4 reminds me of the saying "You are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts". As you stated, your personal opinion does not change the laws of physics, science, etc. A person is entitled to believe what they want but not to impose that belief on others or interfere with another persons freedom of beliefs or choices as granted by the laws of the land. -

Lets start a "Go Fund Me" for those special pioneers being kicked to the curb by the GB,.
by notjustyet inlots of great potential to help those sp that are being sent off without any financial help from the wtbts.
i think that it would be a great way to get some exposure on this topic and how the wtbts thats those that dedicated their lives to the wtbts only to be sent packing at a late age.
then someone can take the funds to one sp couple, possibly, and give it to them in honor of the apostates that know what is really happening.

Research and make a list all the local organizations that help the poor with food pantries, clothing handouts, etc. No surprise to see these are mostly churches. Several churches in my neighborhood have regular monthly free meals where anyone is welcome. Then add to the list the addresses of the local Goodwill Stores and Salvation Army retail outlets. Hand them the list and say "Here, you might be needing this".

Nice moment today
by Theburstbubble inso it's been a few months since i last went to a meeting but i've still had lots of guilty feelings about leaving, such as am i doing the right thing, thinking about friends and family, where do i go from here etc etc.
but i think once you stop believing you can't go back.. anyway, today i had a very nice experience.
my daughter had been to nursery today and when she got home i asked her what she had done and she excitedly told me they had been doing pumpkins.

Heaven I love pumpkins too. This is my favorite time of year, the color of the leaves, the crisp air, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin pie. Love it all.

Yes Punk, freedom and love. Doubt if anyone daydreams of being back under control of the Borg. And when I dream of visiting times past it is as my adult self, not the kid or teen I was then. I would have to be my adult self to appreciate the moment. -

But, you know what I really daydream about? Meeting all the great people here on this board and putting faces with the names and avatars. We could have a big international convention (somewhere in the USA or Canada because I don't fly) and it would be the best convention we ever attended! No brothers in cheap suits would be guarding the pop machines and the mirrors in the ladies room wouldn't be covered with paper!!
