gerry I love reading the stories of ex-elders. You are the ones who know that all the horror stories we read about are true, you guys are on the front lines and behind the scenes. Congrats on celebrating your freedom! π·

I shudder to imagine a "paradise" where a man is dealt with harshly and thrown to the wolves for wearing a beard.

I am so happy for you and the progress that was made. And it must be of comfort to have the support of the nonJW relatives who see through the crap. Yay for the grand daughter who wanted to meet you!π

I have been wondering too, James. I have a cousin coming to town next week and a dinner has been arranged with JW and nonJW family. She previously cancelled a visit with her brother and myself after a convention came down hard on associating with fader relatives. Will anxiously await your update.

"The Bunker" WT Conventions 2016 (Gag Me)
by Poztate inin the very near future the gang will be down in a bunker, cellar awaiting the police, military to break in and take them away to camps or executions .
(paranoid much) this is the foretold "prophecy" of the governments turning on religion and saving them for last.since the couple portrayed as simplifying their life by getting rid of a lot of material things is shown to be (about) the same age in the bunker we know it must be any minute now that it will happen.
i have been out for over 35 years and things seem to be getting more bizarre each year.. when did this doctrine really become main stream?

Almost makes me wish one would come to my door so I could say, "I'm not really interested in your message, but thank you, you must be very brave to come out of your bunker long enough to bring it to me."

Holy Crap, not only did he get the evil notion to question anything from higher education....but....the answer, of course which is you do NOT question doctrine came from the doctrines own writing! Heck yes I see a similarity!π A cult by any other name.......
