  I actually met the girl because Charter was marketing their program heavily to JWs in Texas, and at that time my wife was interested in becoming a psychologist. I attended some of their group therapy sessions, and I remember meeting Starla, (the girl who hung herself)
  as well as some other poor unfortunate JWs who were there for a long stay. I still remember this one JW man saying, "We've got to hang on just a little while longer. It's close. The generation is almost gone, so IT'S GOT TO BE CLOSE" (referring to Armageddon/New World arriving). I wonder how he dealt with "the new light" on that.

  my parents just called and told me that the elders were going to forbid my sister to have her wedding in the hall, and refused an elder to give the talk because we were going to be in it.

  there is no reason for this because we are not df'd or da'd.

  i think my dad is going to type out his da letter tonite, he was so pissed.. to all active jw's who post here!!!.

  Sorry to hear the elders are giving your family a hard time. But maybe they're doing your family a favor. They may be so repulsed they'll ALL leave. Wouldn't that be nice?

  The elders did the same thing to my youngest sister. They told her she couldn't be in her best friend's wedding at the kingdom hall because she was living in my house. (I had given her a place to stay because my JW fantic mom was driving her literally into a nervous breakdown and I was officially DA'd at the time.)
  She was so upset, she said hasta lavista, Watchtower. I will thank them personally next time I see them for being such tremendous jerks that I got my little sister back. Gotta love it, Ashy.

  I could do some research and get you the name of the lawyer who represented the woman's family if you really want it; that is the girl who hung herself at Charter Grapevine. However, he represented her surviving JW relatives in their suit against the hospital. Don't know how much help that would be.

  Oops. More came to mind. I remember a sister in Boerne, Texas, who doused herself with gasoline and set herself on fire. Sorry no names or dates.

  An elderly sister at Castle Hills Congregation in San Antonio, Texas, who carbon minoxided herself with a running car in a closed garage.
  Trudy was her first name. She was German, and had survived the concentration camps as a young girl. She killed herself about 12 years ago approximately.

  Charter Hospital in Grapevine, Texas (close to Ft. Worth) had an in-patient psychiatric facility program exclusively for JWs. I know of at least one female JW, young, kids, married, who hung herself while staying there. There was a lawsuit over it.

  my dub sister planned this little event to see the lion king.

  she invited my two other sisters and their families and purposely left me out.

  when my family asked about me, she just shrugged her shoulders -- the little hypocrite couldn't "stumble" them by telling them she was shunning her own sister.

  i was recently rereading it and it was ridiculous how sophomoric and unrealistic some of the answers to the questions were (e.g.

  when you have the urge to engage in the "sin" of masterbation you should pray to god untill the urge goes away.

  i was recently rereading it and it was ridiculous how sophomoric and unrealistic some of the answers to the questions were (e.g.

  I remember that series of talks on the Ministry School based on The Young People Ask Book. Three chicken brothers in a row bowed out on giving the talk on The Big M, and the PO asked to give it at the last minute.

  I used the talk to say that masturbation was nothing to be embarassed about, it was common, and it was a huge money making business (i.e. porn, 900 numbers) I did follow the Watchtower reasoning that as Christians it was something to make an effort to stop, but I emphasized it was not something to be overwhelmed with guilt about; that the guilt could be more destructive than the habit. Saw a lot of single people in the audience heave a collective sigh.

  JWs get 12 years free rent for labor in LB

  long beach through the end of this year, the long beach convention & entertainment center is offering event organizers free rent inside the newly renovated seaside meeting rooms.. the promotional offer is available for large and small meetings, so long as the organizers pay for food and beverage service, said david gordon, the convention center's general manager.

  "i think it'll be a good way to introduce (the rooms) to the community," gordon said.. the meeting rooms, which total 22,000 square feet, are located just east of pine avenue on seaside way beneath the terrace theater.

  they reopened oct. 23 after a three-month renovation project completed by some 2,000 jehovah's witnesses in exchange for 12 years of free rent at the center.. more at:.
