just wondering.for someone who spends so much time on jwd, he hasn't got much time for the endless cycle of meetings and "field service".he's never revealed anything about his creds except his loudly trumpeted 'degrees'.he's got the board running hot over his endless repeating of the same old.he frequents the library at an anglican church theological college.he is a major contributor to an "apostate" discussion board.

oh well, just wondering.

i was forced to go to kh (to all of the meetings!

) from just a couple weeks before i turned ten until i turned eighteen.

it was awful and i was never baptized.

Stability to Chaos - A Survival Guide

the thread title is a reference to how i hope this thread will evolve, rather than my own pretentious aspirations.. for many of us, perhaps especially if we were raised as jws, the whole world was pretty black and white.

we knew what we were doing, why we were here, where we were going, in the midst of a chaotic world we had a stability that others envied - or so we thought.... for most of us reading this site our eyes have likely at some point been opened to realise that many of our previous strongly-held beliefs were dust.

if we have left the wts or been forcibly ejected then we have also experienced shunning.

Stability guide for me:

Hard work

Music, music, music

Became a film whore

Read good books and more good books. Digested a literal Mt. Everest amount of information off the Internet.

Being in nature and the outdoors, exercise

Became more proficient in my job

Became a student of life because I realized I knew nothing about it. Paid particular attention to people who were happy or peaceful, had a stable life. Had no problem asking them personal questions about their personal philosophies. Most were surprised. Almost all were helpful. This ran the gamut from cold hardcore Satanists to Atheists to raving Charismatics to the New Agers.

i was just introduced to a new flick and thought that you might want to check it out.

i'll not give any review as i don't want to sway your interpretation.

i will say that i found it interesting and could be appropriate based on some postings i've read here.

I was intrigued by the water crystals talked about in the film. Totally discredited. The so called Dr. Emoto, the water crystal guy, sells water to help your enlightenment.

There were some good ideas in the film, but it is really one long infomerical in retrospect.

It wouldn't surprise me if the French tainted his sample.

example: certain about the watchtower having the truth.

then certain that they don't have the truth.

How important is it for you to be certain about something before you act on it?

It took a while, and I think it should.

My study was showing me quotes from older WT publications and I was trying to process a number of thoughts, beliefs and emotions that began throwing me into a tailspin that lasted a year before I began making moves to sever my JW ties.

I had to deal with the WT phobia of looking at anything anti-WT.

I had to deal with the WT phobia that I was under demonic attack.

I had to deal with if the WT wasn't the Truth, then what is?

My relationship with families (my family and wife's family) and friends would be destroyed.

How would I live if I found out there was no God, no truth?

It was a lot of processing.
