  Nightmare

  my brother who is an elder in a european congregation told me this am that a judicial reinstatement was halted mid way when the brother there revealed he is now a lawyer (solicitor).

  it wasn't in his congregation but one close and the elders did not want to proceed until they spoke to the branch office.. he doesn't have many details but does anyone know why they would suddenly stop?.

  he did hear that the brother works with the justice department in the uk in an approved position (non political) and he does work for the court system.

  ok, there is a really, really good book out on dinosaurs.

  There's evidence that humans and mammoths co-existed, in an overlapping kind of way, isn't there? Not that mammoths have anything to do with dinosaurs, of course.

  But as for the Chinese discoveries mentioned above, surely I can't be the only person in the world who sees how totally global are the myths and legends about dragons of all sorts? The Chinese ones are a bit on the ornate sikde, while the British ones are so plain as to be called worms, but they're all dragons.

  And then there's the Loch Ness Monster. need I say more?

  Weird? Sinister? Or just hi-tec?

  it's the end of a seriously stressful day.

  after going through my emails and browsing a couple of shopping sites for autumn clothes, i came here for light relief.. checked the active topics and then my own list of topics posted to in case i needed to answer anyone.

  then i noticed something really weird.. google's banner ads caught my eye.

  I suspect one or two of you didn't twig the tongue in cheek nature of my comments.Yes, I knew about the cookies! I just found it a very quirky and rather amusing, almost as if they'd had a spy camera installed in my front room! (I am not being serious here!)

  Tough Situation.

  my grandmother is not doing so well health-wise.

  she just turned 91 and has been a faithful jw her entire life.

  she has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is battling pneumonia on top of that.. we were very close up until the point, a few years ago, when she asked me flat-out if i had any intention of coming back or if i even believed in god.

  Many active and devoted JW's in the congregation here, including elders and pioneers, use homeopathic medicine and healers. Same with nearby congregations. I've never ever heard of any objections.

  That's so hard on your grandmother. It sounds to me as if you're really close to each other in spite of recent differences. Hope it all gets resolved.

  Another belief they have: It is God's pleasure that the world be destroyed.

  Sorry, N.drew, but their teaching, as I know it, is the direct opposite of that, i.e. that the world will NOT be destroyed but will stand for ever.

  It's the end of a seriously stressful day. After going through my emails and browsing a couple of shopping sites for autumn clothes, I came here for light relief.

  Checked the active topics and then my own list of topics posted to in case I needed to answer anyone. THEN I noticed something really weird.

  Google's banner ads caught my eye. Above and below the listed posts were banner strip ads displying not just one of the online stores I'd visited but the very items I was looking at!

  And then I realised. In fact, I hadn't been looking at those items online, but in the snail mail catalogue that came through the door today. (Told you it was the end of one of those days.)

  Oo-er. Big Brother? Spooky? Spy camera in my living room? Looks like some very sneaky tracking going on!

  Awakes left at work....

  the awake about music was left behind and ended up at the break station... and one of the girls working was reading it and burst out laughing..... are these people serious listen what it says.... after listening to heavy metal music i abused alcohol and started using drugs......... they can't really believe that?
