Thanks a lot, everyone.
You see, to me, the very idea of Jesus actually inspected everything is utterly ludicrous. Completely beyond all common sense.
But it's late and words fail me right now.
Thanks again though.
can anyone explain to me just how and why the jw's confidently believe that jesus came and "inspected" all the other religions and found every one lacking and failing his expectations except the little group of bible students who went on to become the jw's?.
this is the biggest gap between history, logic and common sense and wt belief, to me.
more ludicrous than all the propehecies put together.. i'd be really interested to know all the different strands of this.
Thanks a lot, everyone.

frosted flakes..... they're grrrrrreat!.
Look at the way the angels in the queue are hurrying to get there.
They're almost elbowing each other through the clouds, too.

"Please sir, can I have some more?"
i left a comment on a jwstruggle post - who's in our worldwide brotherhood?
it was aimed at a new visitor to the site:.
what you have stumbled across here is what would be termed an apostate website.
Phizzy, I'm a bit different:
though the talk of revolution makes me worry, I was always told that when:
"The revolution comes, you will be first up against the wall "!
When I hear talk of revolution, I feel like rolling up my sleeves and getting stuck in!
I do think that it would be very tough on those who stand up in the KH, for instance, at the Theocratic Ministry School as Rory says, and maybe gives their own view instead of the WT party line.
Tough on them, and also perhaps not necessarily all that effective, because what would happen? Would the mike get turned off? Would they be stopped somehow, or just reprimanded afterwards? I'm trying to think it though, visualise it. (But I don't want to put a damper on Rory's idea.)
I'm fairly certain they'd only do it once. Perhaps if it was a nation-wide or even global exercise, with everyone in as many KH's as possible doing the same thing at the same meeting on the same subject? Just thinking as I type...
But, if this cult/publishing company/religious organisation is to be stopped in its tracks, an effective revolution is just the thing. But what and how?
I also think Black Sheep has a good point too, because every revolution, or rather, every effective movement has to begin with word of mouth, one to one.
What Phizzy and Cedars said.
if you were a jehovah's witness have you "reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by christendom"?.
"from time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of jehovah's people those who, like the original satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...they say that it is sufficient to read the bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home.
but, strangely, through such 'bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago...".
Phizzy, that's a brilliant post. That's exactly what I think.
Have I gone back to Catholic donctrines? To be honest, I suppose the truthful answer it perhaps, maybe, er, not really, not sure, perhaps not.
In other words, I am reserving my position. I'm absolutely determined never again to allow anyone else to dictate to me what I'm going to belieive. No-one else is going to judge my actions, and if they do, well, that's their problem.
I also no longer believe, if I ever really did, that the Bible is the source of all truth and the one and only source....well, the WT doesn't believe that, does it, despite the protestations in the Bible Teach book? They have a constantly brightening New Light which means new teachings. They say "Believe this or else, that is, until we tell you what to believe next."
I'm also certain that elements of truth can be found in many places other than Christianity. And that's as far as I'll go at the minute.
Interesting thread...

Can anyone explain to me just how and why the JW's confidently believe that Jesus came and "inspected" all the other religions and found every one lacking and failing his expectations except the little group of Bible students who went on to become the JW's?
This is the biggest gap between history, logic and common sense and WT belief, to me. More ludicrous than all the propehecies put together.
I'd be really interested to know all the different strands of this. So many JW's proclaim it, and I've had elders etc describe it to me almost challengingly, as though they are fixing me with their eyes and daring me to disapgree with it.
Back then, I was a total wimp, and kind of gulped and said weakly "Yes, I know."
So, I can work out that Rutherford or someone invented this doctrine. But why and how do they all believe it?

i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.
Truman, I've only just clicked on this thread.
I have tears in my eyes for you as I wroite this. So terrible. I'm so sad for you.
I'll be thinking of you.
my mother has the c.o staying and told her the new zealand bethel is about to be closed and the land and buildings sold.. .
karter..
You mean you get fed when you visit a Bethel?
Maybe I left too soon....
