Resolution on JW Case in France

european court of human rights vindicates jehovahs witnesses in france the european court of human rights published its unanimous ruling in our favour against the french government's demand for 60% tax on donations back dated to 1993-1996 for $79 million.

this will have great implications for other european countries who would like to do the same thing to us and effectively stop our work.

they sought to obligate the association of jehovahs witnesses of france to pay 58 million euros (over $82,000,000 us), which far exceeds all the assets of the association.

So instead of accepting the fact that they won the case and being happy they then have to go on the attack at the end of the statement and claim religious harassment.

This in turn will make the French Government want a further fight with them and find other ways of getting them.

Since when has paying taxes been a weapon when witnesses are all told to pay caesers things to ceaser and be obedient to the laws of the land? Perhaps it is because the Society rightly or wrongly portrays themselves as being anything but mainstream religion that they are subject to different treatment.

Remember this is the organization that called those who sued for child abuse "vindictive" and who refer to those with different opinion "diseased" and even those who claim to be of the remnant " have mental issues". That in itself is enough to provoke anger toward them.

When I got married I moved to my wifes congregation and was stunned by the cliques and the goody two shoes in the congo.

I had a good paying job, own home and a great wife.

I gave up the job to move to my wifes congregation and had to wait until my backgrouond check came through which took 30 days before my new job started. In between the elders heard I was not working and came to visit and told me I was neglecting my responsibity to look after my houehold.

One of the diarhea oops pioneer couples had told them that my wife had said I was not working and thought it was a travesty when infact she said I had not started my new job yet. When i explained that to the elders they didnt know what to say so asked me why I needed a four bedroom home and two cars until I told them it was paid for and the cars we had when we got married.

the next night my wife in front of everyone went to the pioneer couple and ripped them a new one. Then went to the two elders and told them to keep their noses out of our business, we were then known as the bad people and not allowed in the little groups.

with the release of the 3d movie the smurfs, will the wt once again bash the little blue people as agents of satan?

we see the focus on twilight bashing, so is this even a relevant call for the society to make?

or will they rely on their past attack of papa smurf and the gang?.

Anony mous at last someone else that got excited looking in the magazines for those handdrawn harlots showing some legs and slight cleavage. Boy when Momma asked if I studied my litererature could i say in all honesty "yep I did" cos I sure as hell did!

The I found new magazines my brother brought home that would have made the borg wish I watched the smurf movies!

im less than a week here and have read a few articles.

I was Dfd in absentia and in all honesty it hurt my family more than me.

What the elders do not understand is that they destroy utterly destroy families, the very thing they say is falling apart as it is.

They hurt and burden famlies with unneccessary religious rhetoric. read if you can the watchtower printed in 1947 where the condemn the catholic church for excommunicating people calling it "unscriptural" and even quoting scriptures they now use. So was the catholic church given scriptural knowledge greater than the FDS. Was their light brighter.

The love we show is getting on wih our lives and never looking back.

They condemn everything else so it wouldn't surprise me if they mentioned this, nothing surprises me anymore.

I remember the whole smurf incident and we all laughed at it so I must have been a rational dub as i think the majority were mature enough to figure it was tongue in cheek fairytale.

In all honesty I think worrying about their reputation as an organisation flew out the window a long time ago as recent articles have proved.

Honestly, i am just waiting for a magazine that says "do not do anything other than sit at home in silence, not tv, radio nothing other than meetings and service as we do not want you to have a life period"

for the longest time i was so depressed and lonely although my old lady is a great source of comfort.. i had contemplated going back to meetings etc but then i found this site not long ago and i have found real comfort in each of you although i do not personally know you all.. i have had things revealed to me that i never knew which has changed my life and blondie in particular, her posts are always so balanced and clear and i thank her for them.

each of you now feels like family to me and i feel a genuine love and concern that is so lacking elsewhere and to each of you "thankyou".. .

I had contemplated going back to meetings etc but then I found this site not long ago and I have found real comfort in each of you although I do not personally know you all.

I have had things revealed to me that I never knew which has changed my life and Blondie in particular, her posts are always so balanced and clear and I thank her for them. Each of you now feels like family to me and I feel a genuine love and concern that is so lacking elsewhere and to each of you "THANKYOU".
