Why is the Society in England so scared of The Data Protection Act.
by truthseeker1969 inthe ibsa seems terrifed of this law and all that relates to it.. i have heard that if a subject access request is sent they have a "poop" moment and do all they can to destroy anything.. maybe blondie can shed some light on this as i have heard that they destroyed everything and that when asked they will use every tactic to hide what they can and even tell elders to ignore requests.. i am not sure what they most recent directive is on this in the uk but it seems they are terrified of being caught on this.. .

Funniest Thing to happen during a meeting?
by truthseeker1969 ini am sure all of us have laughed at something that happened at the kingdom hall or assembly.. the first one i can think of is a brother giving a talk on voting and saying " why is it that men sit iin pubs and discuss how bad the economy is and the cost of everything and yet when the 'erection" (election) comes up they never do anything about it.. my brother in his best beavis n butthead voioce said " huh huh he said erection".
we sat for the next 45 mins trying hard not to laugh.. of course, i got the look from the elders and the talk about not laughing.. .

Charliko I will find the article for you and you are welcome for the thread.
I have been out 17 years disfellowhipped in ansentia for something I did not even do but refused to meet with the elders and justify the accusation period.
I like the congregation I was in infact love them all to this day but when you accuse me of something it was obvious I did not do but prefer hearsay then it is time to go.

GB becoming more angry!
by truthseeker1969 inflipping through the wt and other artices it strikes me how angry the governing body is becoming and how they are using insulting words to describe anyone who "rocks the boat".. words such as diseased and vindictive are common place now and so petty.. it seems to me that these men may be allowing personal feelings to overcome their spiritual role that they are supposed to live by.. i have been out of the truth for 17 years and it is clear to me that they have lost the plot.. look at the generation flip flop.
why not just say, "brothers, we have no clue and therfore no clue about anything that has been taught".
assuming the role of jesus on earth is something no one should do as one look at corinthians clearly states that "gifts of prophesying would be done away with" in other words god said i will tell you not you me.. anyone else feel that the gb is angry?.

Wobble from what I learned just a few hours ago, the society does not have any details other than a record of disjello-whipping and that they can not longer hold notes about the JC or hold them as too many elders put their worldly view of things in them.
This would open them to lawsuits and would expose them for being back biters.
What I have noticed is how angry the governing body is at the moment and knowing that they refer to apostates as mentally diseased which is certainly not something either Jesus or Jehovah would use.
Open minded yes but to me if being open minded and willing to stand for rights equals being mentally diseased then hey show me the institution!

Mummatron:
thank you for your input and I guess the best step forward is for information to be requested and see the result.
my guess is that any information that they have they will destroy and claim that they have nothing about anyone who asks for it.
it was noted that once a person ceases membership of a church then the processing of information is to cease and information destroyed but published instruction to elders clearly states that they are to keep files in violation of the act and that in future letters of recommendation are to be read and destroyed which again is a violation of the act.
it is very hard to know when this organization tells the truth anymore which is a shame and it seems to be getting worse lately. I know from past experience many years ago that many people were happy to be part of a religion based on scripture but now is no more than a legal arm of a publishing empire with no particuar view of anything other than money.
J R Brown is the one who said they would find a way around the law while Ted Jaracz said that they follow the laws and do not go beyond the things written, how sad!
Any other information you have would be of benefit.
Thanks to all for the replies

I agree and i think the sad part is the lies they tell so that they can do it, Over and over I now know that they are the law and the law answers to them.
I do not trst them period.

JWfacts that was great what you were able to achieve.
Most people would have given up but you had the hangers to keep going!
I studied a bit about the act and how they can not give out information to other countries outwith the EU and a few others and yet the Bethel Spokesman said that they would find away around it. Not Good to admit that you break the law
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has any knowledge of what can be done to be left alone.
Thanks again
