Nice interview. A JW sister that goes to Bethel as an elder's wife, is there for 1975, later leaves and goes to college while remaining in good standing and with husband still an elder, goes into the medical field. Later they wake up to Ttatt... -

Someone anonymously tipped the elders?
by raven inso here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.
anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.
and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?

I know of a case where the guy is a flaming apostate and the brothers won't touch him with a ten foot pole because he threatened to sue each brother personally, the congregation, the CO, and the the watchtower if they tried to pursue anything that would defame his name. He had an attorney involved.
It's amazing how the big bad elders become childishly small when "Satan's" legal authority is introduced. Why would God be afraid of Satan? Lol.....

Making fun of an elder, CO or GB'er, would it be considered brazen conduct or some other WT sin?
by oppostate inwould making fun of an elder, co or governing body member, be considered brazen conduct or some other wt sin, like apostasy?
.
is it an actionable judicial matter, even?.

I said recently that the new light was to sell all of your tight pants and buy an ipad.
It got a laugh in a mixed crowd of JW's including a recently re-appointed elder. Lol....

Finding my mental condition getting worse not sure what to do?

Exercize is big, even if it is just a nice long walk. I have to exercise everyday to keep my head straight.
i also got some counseling. It is helpful. If nothing else, it was cool to hear a professional tell me that it is actually a common problem. Jews can't leave their religion without heavy consequences often. Mormons, Pentecostals, other fundamentalist Christian religions, Indian Hindu families are often very controlling etc.
the physical symptoms need a doctor most likely just to be on the safe side.
good luck...

"Hope for what we do not see" - Review
by problemaddict 2 ini give it 3 thumbs down.. the video starts with an ambulance in peru.
the ambulance people look at an id and a no blood card in spanish.. quick flash away to now and a happy family of a couple with 2 young boys.
all good kids it collages their everyday life, all centered around theocratic activities.

It also makes the JW's feel helpless and hopeless.
So they will run into the arms of the cult and its many warm and comforting promises.

I think it teaches suffering is a virtue. God demands sacrifice that hurts.
This dovetails nicely in the call for simplifying (sacrifice) to give more money and time to the org.
It encourages giving up. Since life in this system will never be anything but tragedy and heartbreak (according to the messaging), just give this life to "Jehovah" aka the WTBTS, and earn your next life. You can live then with your resurrected family.
I see it as abusive. Beat down the friends emotionally and they can be more easily controlled.
Same line of reasoning as abusive husbands that "keep a woman barefoot and pregnant" and tell her she will never amount to anything.

Could they make not donating a disfellowshipping offence?
by purrpurr ini'm wondering at how far the borg could go in begging for money?
their halls are already resembling the"money changers in the temple".
as they get sued more and more due to their pedophilic paradise their coffers will be ever more drained.

I agree with MarkofCane.
I'm not sure how many are aware of this, but jworg accepts donations already on the website. A person can also setup recurring donations (how nice of them). I can see them pushing this a bit in the future and expecting publishers in good standing to have an automatic draft setup.
...
One point that I think about is the commingling of funds between local and branch that you have now. I think this has overall decreased cash flow for the org. They just couldn't resist the temptation to snag local money a couple of years ago and now they step in periodically and pressure congregations to give their "surplus" to the branch. The CO looks at the accounts now to find surplus funds for the branch on each visit.
You used to see certain JWs that would give money to the local congregation but not to the branch. I assume that these individuals were more comfortable seeing their money put to good use in a tangible way at the local level. With this money grabbing from the branch, these "local contributors" are not nearly as prevalent. There's no sure way to give money now and it not get grabbed up by "mother".
The only way I donate is if I am buying something specific for the hall or giving my time to hall maintenance. I do not put money in the box at all. I am not alone in this.

(I posted this on another thread:)
Could that thing be more depressing? I mean hell. They killed off 3 people gave one cancer and got him laid off from work.
it's hard for me to imagine that this type of video doesn't actually instill doubts in people. The reasonings of the "worldly" people were more coherent than the witnesses.
The scriptural hopes actually come across illusory and naive. God is given credit for their rebound without any blame for allowing the fall in the first place. The shepherding brothers actually bothered to mention Job, as if that account is going to make somebody feel better.
It's disturbing to see what the org is turning into. There is obviously no Armageddon anytime soon. The urgency is gone so they have to resort to this suffering-is-a-virtue brainwashing. The messaging is too specific for it not to be completely calculated. So all those out there that think the leadership is sincere but wrong, think again. These are calculating manipulators keeping people stuck emotionally for their personal gain.
They are heartless greedy sociopaths.
...
-I will add that I agree it is well produced but the acting is terrible. This IMO makes the manipulative agenda more transparent and simultaneously less effective.
