Hey stuckin, We all come at this things from a different angle,My best friend is a servring Elder, a great guy. I have a degree, and it pissed a few of the elders off, what can you do ? I am almost apologetic about it, pointing out I got it before I became a witness, If you wanted to advance in the JW ranks,dont acknowledge you are educated. My other mate is a teacher, yes he is guilty, got degree, he is hated more than me, Its a sin to be educated , easpecially after baptism, he is hated and despised, called a homo ,and derided.

by eruption inpoint 1. not so long i would have strung them all up and hanged them.. point 2. these guys were the real succers, not only did they become jw,s, they embraced and adopted the cults teachings, and to some extent subjugated thier familys happiness, and thier own,to elevate themselves, and achieve status and recieve privellages, ie not have a f-----g life.
point 3 they had the onerus task of making sense, of the ever changing (truths) and having to teach that crap to the rest of us, and cope with the subsequent questionings that would invariably follow.. point 4.they had to take the lead in (sales) distributing literature.
point 5.they were the authoritarian face of the society, and a lot of people, (myself included ) thought they were jumped up janitors and window cleaners with a chip on thier shoulders.

Falcon, I tried to be balanced, It took some effort, and ive been rewarded, with an untainted thread, but your right,on a case by case basis. MY estimate would be 80% (progresive) but the remaining 20% created more fear and alarm, so in my not so humble opinion the congregations, were still in negative equity, not places were any positivity was present.(it could have been so different) SIGH !!!

Your country,s debt is STAGGERING, YOUR over-run buy wetbacks, and other immigrants that are a massive drain on your public services and economy. Your gun laws, or lack of them, contribute to making your country the worlds number one for murders. YOU have NO universal healthcare for your people.China owns your country. Thats the down side.
On the plus side, although you dont have the best armed forces, they are the strongest by some way, this allows your polititions to kick ass and that allied to your debt, gives your country considerable leverage.
Just a final point, how bad must the surrounding countrys be, that thier people want to live in the USA ?

Me and ex mrs eruption, used to keep one foot on the floor, it didnt work, we still ended up shagging , if I had had a chaperone (female ) WE would have had a threesome, she liked girls too.
Anyway ex mrs E, is now with her new guy Elder, 2 kids, I miss them both though, they are both great people, if they werent JW,s I know we would still be friends, though Alan, the elder, probably would have reservations, but once he recognised I didnt want her back, and would even babysit for them, Ah well we can but dream !!!!!

This reminds me of the NAZIS,having to retreat whilst getting the shit kicked out of them, by the Russians, on the Eastern front. Not once did the NAZIS ever retreat(even though they were being over-run) they were not retreating, Oh No, they were merely STRAITINING OUT THIER LINES.
Does that not sound familiar to what is occurring in Brooklyn ? Just like the NAZIS, never admitted to being defeated (though they were ) thier actions proved otherwise. Just like the WTBTS, make no mistake they are retreating, and trying to disguise there retreat as UTILISING THIER RESOURSES, has as much credibility as the NAZIS had, and ALL PEOPLES, JW and NAZIS, were/are prevented from speaking freely, (SIGH !!! )

Thanks for your efforts Blondie, I love your TOWER reviews, they are brill. I used to hate the tower study when I was in, everyone trying to give the most (spiritual answer ) falling over themselves to brown nose and show how( Spiritual ) they were, puke!! Your constructive and robust comments, display insight and a degree of objectivity and tolerance toward WTS I am not capable off.
just a thought, had WE been allowed to approach, evaluate, and engage with our studies, like we can here , would we be here in the first place ? I know its really utopian, but imagine a society that could cope with constructive critisim, change direction, admit past failures,ALL OF THEM, and there are many!! ah well just a thought !

Great Thread, it follows on from one posted here earlier, when I was convinced about the Ark,Not anymore I hasten to add. But this is a great place to come and have open debate, and to progress your understanding.
TWO great points, Firstly, we are still discovering new species NOW, in 2011, NO way could Noah have raced around the globe, picking up polar bears,penguins and polar animals, then gone to Aus to get Kangaroos, then gone to Madagascer,to pick up all the creatures native to that Island, The 300,000 different types of beetles, and provided the ideal habitat, and foodstuffs, for hundreds of thousands of creatures, on a Wooden boat, made with hand tools, that were available 4500 years ago.
If the JW version of only having ONE beetle on board the boat, that then turns itself into 300,000 different types of beetle, spread all over the globe all with different fucntions in there respective ECO SYSTEMS, In 4000 years, EVEN evolution, that they repudiate, cannot come up with an evolutionary model that moves that quickly. GREAT STUFF
