  yesterday evening my wife and i were invited to friends house for new year's eve.

  we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.

  they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.

  a young, progressive, kind elder wants to have a chat with me on sunday after the meeting.

  we've talked before and been quite open about the judgemental attitudes 'we' have as witnesses, and he was completely in agreement, stating that he's never understood the beard thing among other issues, and wants to see the society moving forward by change..

  i've no doubt he just wants to encourage me to up my hours or reach out again, but it's nerve wracking, as i know i'll say something i'll regret.

  I think it would be great, first it offers an alternate app using the same JW.ORG tag, a legitimate educational app For them.

  Second, people can read it in private on their mobile without the hiding jew/ nazi like SS concerns of having hard copies or shared computers etc

  I am 100% here because of what I read on my phone online Many moons ago!

  Science is a process,

  Someone does an experiment, it gets written in a paper, published in a journal, reviewed, accepted or denied and then put in a textbook.

  We teach kids these textbooks. For simplicity, we have seperated our sciences into Physics, which dictates Chemistry which dictates Biology.

  Now please do explain where Genesis 1:1 fits in? ......... I'm assuming we are going with the western monotheism, namely Yaweh, allah is a bit scary hey.

  Can we teach star wars in history too?

  Ok sarcasm over....

  erm btw WE HAVE TAUGHT CREATIONISM in school for centuries, in religious studies.mit is already on the curriculum. But lets keep it out of science class.

  Who Made The Code?

  a few weeks ago, discoveries were made that show that there is another dna code language that rides on top of the already incredibly complex 4-letter code previously discovered.

  this newly discovered code apparently regulates how genes work.

  as i noted in a previous thread, the amount of data storage available in the dna storage system just the size of a pin-head would filll a stack of books stacked from your driveway to the moon .... 500 times!

  I guess its partly, hoping that these guys decide to pick up a book and see the evidence for themselves, partly that someone clicking by such threads see an alternate story than the JW version of events, with signposts to where to find the evidence.

  I know these guys are lazy and dishonest, asking the same questions over and over, ignoring answers over and over again. But for 25 years I did the same thing.

  I have no intention to insult or scare you, i am turning your mocking against you and highlighting your insignificance in the light of people who actually matter. If Craig Ventnor was to stop working, it would matter to our society. Me and you, not so much.

  You have never been so honest, if not between the lines... some people see this data and see emlightnement, some see it and it tells them they NEED a god!

  I have no idea how any of this data communicates a need for a god, why one god and not gods? Doubtless you have ONE specific god in mind, by chance the god of our historical times and prevelant in your geography.... Hmmm conveniant.

  You are never going to budge, I was once identical to you , but with one difference.... I KNEW NOTHING of this information, these facts, the data. What is the relevance? I have been your side of the fence, I worshiped and loved a 'god' charachter, I knew the bible inside out, I got excited researching the bible, I gave my yourh to pioneering,mthen bethel.... BUT STILL, I have no idea how you intepret this scientific information into NEEDing a god. It isnt logical, sensible, evidential, or even religiously consistant.

  but each to their own..... I appreciate some NEED it, some don't.

  ryan had a church in hollywood he offered his pulpit for a muslim leader to speak at his church.

  he introduced many catholic traditions into his church and he was very accepting of gay lesbian and transgender couples .
