Ive followed the pattern!!
by Jon Preston inso the wt must be well versed in understanding patterns in us faders.
first you comment less, less service, less meeting attendance, then you remove yourself from the school, etc etc.
is there a psychological aspect to this from a non jw point?.

"....you will realise that not everyone will share that opinion."
Had you just said this in your title, I personally wouldn't have taken an interest in what seems a very obvious statement, but you didn't say anything near this minimus, you said....
"Don't Expect This Site To Change Anybody's Religious Opinion"
That is a bit different to saying ...not everyone......will respond to your evidence and reason, which really didn't need saying.... We all left loved ones behind in an irrational, illogical, false belief system. What you said was very negative, very pessimistic and innacurate. i clicked on it interested in your reason for saying it, only you didn't have a reason, just an opinion and now you just keep dodging away from what you initially said.
Instead of constantly changing what you claim to have meant, why not just admit "whoops that was a bit much, must have been a bad day!"

Secular JWs: The future of the organization?
by kneehighmiah ini was raised in a jewish community.
the secular jews greatly outnumbered the orthodox jews.
like jws they had a tight knit community.

good question..... The JW's are an authoritarian group however. Most religions are formed on a relationship of teaching and spiritual interaction. People attend meetings as JW's to receive instructions. Their is no room for opinion in such a dictatorial group and this is maintained via authoritarian structure. why is evolution not true? because you have been told it is not! Watchtower really offers very little but this, if you removed it, what would be left? Jews have rabbi's, but rabbi's do not police their followers like elders do, they 'teach' and discuss the bible.
Lastly Watchtower is again different in what it teaches, follow us or die. the punishment of death is serious and they use this to harvest control and fear, this again is to maintain their authority. few religions teach global genocide of the disobedient. for WT to relax the religion, they would have to dilute the threat. they won't do that for it will cost the, their authority.
This organisation has lots of cash on hand at the end of a recession. They are about to become super rich as they have a history of stock market investment. They are about to become a serious financial institution with REAL power. I think as time goes on they will pay less attention to their religious activity and more to their financial.
They are already giving financial status a priority to promoting their beliefs with reductions in meetings, literature, assemblies, bethels, overseer positions, rbc teams.... these are all overheads. there is no justification in removing them, without questioning the spirit directed decision of them existing in the first place..... what has changed? my opinion....their goals have.... from being prophets, to the profit$....

yes there is a pattern, you recognise the social and personal cost of being attached to, associated with and promoting of.....a paraiah group. Usually this is kept subdued by being kept busy in religious activity and by giving a false representation of real life and real social perspectives. if everyone you know and spend time with believes as you do, you won't feel odd being homophobic and pro world genocide (armageddon).
As you recognise the embarassing truth, that WT has sold you bullshit, your evolution will kick in, before you know it you wont want to be there, you wont want to stand on a platform and spew their message, you will be ashamed to promote it door to door as they ask of you and eventually the very association of being any part of them will fill you with shame and regret.
They have a hold over us though, to remove yourself from their name completely will cost you all your friends and most of your family. it is the strongest card in their deck and despite the cold and wicked nature of it, they play the card with ease, without it they would be long gone by now.
The good news is, the JW's and their rules are so insignificant to real life.... non of it matters & the people who chose dogma over flesh and blood are the ones who will one day have to face themselves, you are the one in the right, you are standing for REAL truth.
we all went through it, we all experienced the same feelings, desicions. realities......the same pattern.

Interesting Choice of Words
by piztjw ini get into words, and why certain words are used, and the meaning of certain words as they are used, especially by the wt&t$.
i noticed the way this statement about relief work in the phillipines news article on j.worg was written:.
"an estimated 15 to 20 percent of those seeking refuge at the site are non-witnesses.".

Same sex marriage legalised in the UK at midnight tonight!!!
by DuvanMuvan intitle pretty much explains it all.
lots of people are getting married at midnight tonight.. what do you guys think?
maybe if anyone gets called on by a jw this weekend you can ask them what they think about it.. im just glad because it shows that religion doesn't define our conscience, that basic human decency can prevail over time and hopefully, these types of gradual but big changes will be present in the wts too in the future .

I have made my decision
by Brother Mike ini'm sure most of you have read bits and pieces of my story throughout the last year being on this site.
i've decided as a human being, and as an adult, i'm going to make the decision on whether to stay with the jw religion or leave it.
i of course have many doubts about the organization which has lead me to do research.

Well done on breaking your mind free xx

P.s. May I suggest you have a Plan B in case things come out or if a leak/suspicion leads to a faster exit. A Plan B that will cover having to make quick desicions and fast choices.

Lurking faithful JWs, here's a question for you to ponder on:
by Island Man inare you in 'the truth', or are you only in 'the current understanding'?.
how long will it be before many of the current teachings peculiar to the organization are rejected as old light and relegated to watchtower's dust bin of old light, out-of-print literature to be expunged from future issues of watchtower library cd-rom?.
