Greek Mythology influence on New Testament
by Magnum ina few days ago, i was in a book store, and i picked up a book providing a brief overview of classical mythology.
as i examined the opening pages, i read about tartaurus (place of punishment) and hades (god of the underworld).. it seems so odd that tartarus and hades would be mentioned in the new testament, and yet they were part of greek mythology which predated the new testament.
why would bible writers have used such terms?

After all, JWs were RIGHT!

Science is JUST a process to observe the world around us, it provides a mechanism to learn how our universe works. Nothing more.
When humans learn something new, it is thanks to the scientific process. What we do with that data is nothing to do with science and all to do with us.
It is about growing up and taking responsibility. Do you drive a car, do you trash plastics daily? You know you shouldn't.....
We are animals of habit and pattern, we don't like change. I am confident, with science, we have a hope.
People can wait on the 8 guys from Brooklyn if they want, but I would ask them.....have you read the report on them dumping toxic waste in fields that fed into the bethelite water supply? Have you read about their fines in Australia recently for enviromental damage? Have you read the many stories here and elsewhere of how bethel would run the factory at night in NY to cover their illegal printing activity, hiding that they were exceeding their daily limits of 'ruining the earth'.

If you are pondering leaving....
by snare&racket inwiser men have lived and died than those ignorant dictators of brooklyn, for those that are pondering the courage required to cease the so called life as subjects to their whim, consider the words of someone far more inspirational than self appointed men hiding from real life dictating to millions how to live.... .
out of the night that covers me, black as the pit from pole to pole, i thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul.. in the fell clutch of circumstance i have not winced nor cried aloud.
under the bludgeonings of chance my head is bloody, but unbowed.. beyond this place of wrath and tears looms but the horror of the shade, and yet the menace of the years finds and shall find me unafraid.. it matters not how strait the gate, how charged with punishments the scroll, i am the master of my fate, i am the captain of my soul.. .

Atheist, but the sentiment is so powerful. You alone are the captain of your destiny, nobody else to thank or blame......
We get one life, it doesn't last long, as soon as you realise the JW's are no different to all the other snake oil sellers IT IS UP TO YOU so captain your life away....

How to capitalise on recent unwise appointment with my wife.
by disposable hero of hypocrisy ina brother was appointed recently in the cong, he's got a dodgy history, doesn't really have the respect of many in the cong.
it's surprising to me, but i don't really care, good for him.

Ask her...
"Do you think the Holy Spirit directs appointments in the hall?"
if yes...
" with regard to elder paedophiles in the news all over the place, Did God and his Holy Spirit know that an elder or MS would turn bad and choose them anyway?"
"If not what use is the Holy Spirit! If yes, it makes the HS and God responsible for the feelings of those stumbled by criminal and sexual/violent crimes committed by those people. it makes the HS responsible mass disgust at such activity."

Window-washer is the cover of Feb 2015 WT, "How to enjoy your work!" Hahaha!!
by EndofMysteries in.
after all the jokes and satire on this website about jw's only being able to amount to window washers and house cleaners, the cover page of "how to enjoy your work" showing a window washer and cleaner in the back ground.
i almost wonder if some awakened, still-in, from this site is part of the writing department or illustrations and put that in there as an inside joke for us?.

I don't think it is a nod to apostates, menial work and poor wage has become a normality for JW's, this is how far from reality the org and it's members have become.
Ambition and career aspiration are actually dirty words to JW's. So, so, so, so brainwashed! In reality, this kind of image and article is an indicator for how irrelevant and harmful the bible and religions are to society, nothing to be celebrated. Knowing this, the org brainwashes further by cheering on poverty and menial work.

Not the best approach, but we have to remember how it felt when we left, sometimes this may seem like a good idea for no other reason than self healing and misguided urge to shout what we now know, to non violently and legally retaliate.
Don't misunderstand me, it would not be a method I would use, but let's not be so judgmental, there is no right or wrong here, just opinion.
I must add that a friend of my family that I highly respected as a JW, spoke from the platform about his true views, I was told he spoke as an apostate in a meeting, I can't lie, that contributed to the many reasons that led me to one day leave. Seeing people outiside the assembly hall, people without horns or demonic eyes (mostly) helped re-humanise apostates for me.
So it isn't all bad, but not the best methods used.

How and why?
by snare&racket inonce upon a time, there was a world in flux, undergoing change and diversity at an imperceptible pace.
only with hindsight was it possible to catalogue the various paths being born that led to a word and humanity so very different one hundred years later than compared to any time in the homo sapiens past.. technology, warfare, the universe, the discovery of atoms... born in stars, all things forced upon the fragile minds of mortals in a short period of time.. these overwhelming changes led to the birth of many things, including comforts and hopes that were far to readily available to grasp ahold of.
as the founders of these comforts could not themselves grasp the world they found the self in, they sought the worlds they knew, the past, 4000 years in the past......the technicalities and truths were to be ironed out at another time, a time never reached.. some had no choice in the matter, the grasping was done by their parents, their grandparents, their great grandparents.....when the time came for personal analysis, not only had they inherited comfort but great, great fears.

Exactly,
It is as easy as making a desicion, it's not even difficult if you are honest, its's just a big one!
Despite what they would have you believe, the sky does not fall onto your head when you decide to simply question what you have been told. Though, in honesty, your life will never be the same again.
Anonymous JW readers out there, sound a little scary? Ask yourself why? It shouldn't be scary at all......if it is all true.
