  Embarrassed by Aggressive Apostates

  xjw protests & videos.

  .. i am disturbed by some of the more aggressive apostates posting videos on youtube,like "a jw memorial to remember" where a drunk man goes to a memorial and downs the whole glass of wine as a sort of protest.

  this video and others like it received positive comments from aawa members.

  Though they may make life a bit harder for the rest of us apostates behaving like this, I have sympathy for them.

  The painful irritation of the mind, the remains of a cult life that obviously motivates them, is clearly personal, emotional and eating away at them.

  The turmoil and damage that causes someone to drink and cause disorder in this cult after leaving, is due to inner pain that was done TO them as we all know and witnessed ourselves.

  I am sure most of us have thought of doing such things. but restrained outselves or dismissed it.Don't get me wrong, it is not the way to do it...not at all, in my opinion. But I feel sad that they are so desperate to have their side heard in that KH, they did that.

  I don't remember ever seeing such displays in the literature, under a heading of 'What a life in Watchtower can result in....'

  it is a 2 page article on how evil the catholic and protestant inquision was, how wickedly they killed the witches and so on.. .

  I agree with the OP....the motivation to kill innocent women was not based on rationale or evidence, or justice. It was based on Exodus. Watchtower would never admit that. Funny but, I imagine the avergae witness, though likely would not be changed in the slightest, would pick up on the disjointed message between the article and the bible. They were just following their holy texts.

  Some feel they are holy texts, some feel they are man made, superstition alongside very dangerous instructions.

  lol lisa... indeed! It is a scientific discovery, nothing more.

  Speargrass, why speculate? Why guess? Why not find out based on answers we have discovered for some time now. Science has answered most of your questions mentioned, already. There is no need to make up an answer. Especially a vague, non scientific, unhelpful answer such as 'consciousness did it'.

  If you really want to know why and how cells replicate, go read upon RNA, DNA and meiosis and mitosis. Want to know why plants face the sun, go read up on photosynthesis and the 'z scheme' of energy trsnsfer.

  If you REALLY want the answers to your questions, ignoring that the answers are easy to find in 2014 and you haven't sought them, go buy a textbook! The reality is...the answer exists, ask yourself why you don't know it....IF you truly seek it...big IF.

  I have never seen so many replies to a scientific discovery, with nothing but personal opinion on whether there is a god and plenty of "yeah well, you still can't explain 'x' yet..."

  Also, I have seen every single one of the repliers misunderstand evolution and abiogenesis on many occasions, yet here they are refuting science. Have some self relflection and humility, my lordy! On top of that, all we hear about from the religious is "Yeah, well what about where life came from?!" When we start to have results, following some very plausible hypothesis....now the issue is "Well you haven't mapped out all the protein folding yet have you!"

  You guys DON'T WANT answers, you want darkness for your god's to inhabit. Don't stand in front of the scientific train with your hand held up shouting 'stop in the name of yaweh' ...... it is just embarassing and get's messy.

  I have NO issue at all with people believing in god or whatever, you can even deny science, or reality. But don't promote it or come defend your stance and expect no reply! I know what will be next...

  Perry, or as you should be known 'Ctrl C then Ctrl V'

  Protein folding is a religious cop out. It is the first big assignment I did in university, looking at chaperone proteins and alpha-helix and beta-sheet protein folding. We do know how they fold, but proteins are all so meticulously folded in numerable ways that we cant model them all individually yet. So in strict definition, we do not yet know how all the proteins have been folded. BUT....The issue isn't 'how does this magic occur?' the issue is effort and time and computing power, to analyse it all.

  But that is all you have. More god of the gaps, enjoy them while they last.
