  watchtower tones down apostate talk at august 3rd convention!

  no mention of them being mentally diseased or using "lies" to deceive god's people, just that they are out to attract followers for themselves!.

  p.s.

  i was cringing at the thought of sitting for 3 1/2 hours for the afternoon session but fortunately my one kid got sick!!

  District Convention talks regarding Apostates and College

  as much as it pained me.......for the benefit of my upcoming custody battle.......i went to the friday afternoon session and recorded the final talk of the day that railed on college.

  then i went back and recorded the apostate talk on saturday.

  both recordings are audio and visual but the visual is basically just a panoramic of the arena (i was sitting/standing in an area more or less above and behind the speaker.).

  Mom, please prove to me that my worldly friends would not do the same thing for me that my witness "friends" would. What you are suggesting is nothing more than a gross generality backed up by 0 facts. Tell me, please, if I were disfellowshipped and openly admitted that I do not believe the society is directed by God.......would all my "witness" friends be there for me if I needed them? What if I needed to borrow money? What if I needed a place to lay my head? What if I needed a kidney transplant? I cannot guarantee that my worldly friends would do that for me......but you know what I can guarantee? My witness "friends" certainly would NOT. All because of my social standing within the organization. I am grateful that if something happened to me you and dad would sell your house......move....take on jobs.....anything for me. But you know what? I would do that for my children too. And so would ANY loving parent. Try watching the news. Try opening your eyes the next time you are out shopping. You'll see worldly people taking care of their sick/injured adult children. And none of them have a caveat in their relationship with their children that says "you WILL be in the religion I chose for you......or I will cease taking care of you and showing natural affection."

  Elder instructions to mates

  when i first was waking up to ttatt, doing my own research on the new covenant and the mediator i wrote down everything the wt said was their beliefs and then went through and blew up each one of their points and came to the conclusion that all christians are anointed all are under the new covenant and all mediated by jesus.

  when i showed my research to my wife she freaked out and called the elders.

  with that the co came over to see what was going on and the cat was out of the bag.

  You can try DOCs suggestion, but for me that didn't work. I was told both by the elders and my wife that what we talk about at home most certainly is NOT confidential........not when it involves "disrespecting Christ's brothers". I asked where the bible supports such a belief. Of course the only answer I got was "it is theocratic order".

  The deal is........ALL BETS ARE OFF - including the head of the house argument - when "spiritual endangerment" of a fellow believer is at stake.

  I really need some help to get out of this religion

  hi, i've been lurking on this site for quite a while after recently having doubts about the "truth".

  i've read a lot of posts about problems with the doctrines, mind control, the beliefs, brainwashing that jehovah's witnesses and their literature, as well as their history.

  now only being a sixteen year old born in who isn't baptized or unbaptized, i've come to find all this information incredibly overwhelming.

  Do research. And when you're done doing research, do more research. Trust us. The more you research the more your eyes will be opened to what a horrific, manipulative, lying cult this is. For me, the kicker was the whole 587BC vs 607 BC thing. If Jerusalem didn't fall in 607BC like the witnesses say, then 1914 is wrong too. And if 1914 is wrong then the whole house of cards comes tumbling down.

  How does TTATT affect your marriage??

  just wondering of those of you that have left or are fading and have married ones still in, how is it going, is there hope or is the marriage doomed?

  wondering what are the percentages.

  i'm fading fast but wife is zealous as ever and we don't talk spiritual things at all anymore.

  For me it ended with divorce, disfellowshipping for charges of "apostasy" and my wife doing everything in her power to keep my children away from me.

  "you can go from Hall to Hall or church to church, none of them have the truth, because the Bible depends on each man's interpretation."

  This may be true. But how many other churches teach that there is only one true religion and you must be a part of that religion if you want to survive "the end"..........and in order to be a part of it, you must believe any and all teachings and dictates that are handed down from the powers that be no matter how many times they have changed in the past, and if you choose not to believe, you will be excommunicated and shunned by your family and friends for the rest of your life?
