  Spelling/Grammar Nazis.

  i'll admit it.

  it kinda gets my goat when folks disregard spelling and grammar.

  i really get miffed at misuse of there/their/they're and your/you're, then/than, etc.. i very rarely ever go so far as to correct anyone on it, but it would seem that maybe karma caught up with me today on another thread when i typed that i had "said my peace".

  I am not a spelling nazi......but I do love the occasional double negative! Go to the WT study on Sunday. I guarantee you'll hear at least one.

  The best I've ever heard was an astounding quintuple negative. "I ain't never not won nuthin from no one". That one still takes the cake.

  does anyone here have any suggestions on handling financial abuse of a senior by the watchtower bible and tract society?

  mom gave a lot of money to the watchtower bible and tract society over her lifetime- (6 figures).

  after she ran low on funds she made a 5 figure "conditional loan" to wtb&ts.

  Blondie - I don't think they've ever written or said specifically "these men were the faithful slave before the modern day slave". They say things like "George Storrs may very well have been....." And then 7 million witnesses read between the lines.

  That way....they can always say "we never SAID that...it was just an expressed opinion"

  Similar to "could 1975 usher in God's new world? It could! It could" - JW's.....please read between the lines now......

  Is the WTS "refinancing" KH loans?

  my mom's kh was built last year with a loan from wts.

  she was talking about a letter to all congregations with loans from wts.

  the letter was asking the publishers how much they can pay towards a refinance.

  I recall less than a year ago.....something like this going on at my congregation. I missed that meeting....but all the publishers were putting down "confidential" numbers of how much they could contribute. I didn't pay attention to what it was for.....but now I wish I had

  i was walking through a busy part of london this morning at 8am, the mainstreets were full of commuters and workers on their way to begin their day.

  of course out in full force were the cheaply dressed jw young pioneers.

  all sporting battered cases and a wodge of mags in hand.

  "what happened to the zealous pioneers that used to grab people out of the station?"

  The only ones that are zealous are the older ones that MUST be zealous because they have nothing else to live for and the newly baptized ones that are hopped up on "spiritual caffeine". Most of the young pioneers are born ins. They....at this point in their lives are like Neo when he first meets Morpheus. They know something isn't quite right but they can't put their finger on it. But they have been mind controlled long enough to know that they'd better just tow the line and not worry about it because that's what Jehovah wants them to do. Therefore you have droves of teenage and early twenty somethings that simply go through the motions because they are told that doing so will grant them everlasting life. Yet none of them have learned how to think critically. If they had....they might say to themselves....."really? God approves of me? I spend hours walking up and down this street....hoping NOT to talk to anyone just so I can turn in a magic number that will make the leaders in my congregation pat me on the back......and this is what God wants?"

  I recall 7 or 8 years ago....our CO was in town. Overall congregation hours in field circus were down. His talk on Thursday night was aimed at getting us to increase those hours. He spent minutes on end guilting the congregation by saying that if we didn't go in service we are blood guilty. He finished by special pleading. He said (not verbatim) "Even if you don't like going out in service....even if you hate it.....go anyways. It is a requirement of Jehovah's! He knows how you feel. And it makes him happy when you fight that feeling to do what He wants"

  It is simply amazing how the attitude has changed in the last 20 or 30 years. It used to be that if you admitted that you didn't like going in service....it was because Jehovah wasn't blessing you because of something YOU were or weren't doing. It was because you didn't go out enough. It was because you weren't spiritually strong. You were virtually treated as an outcast. Now......MOST witnesses don't like going out in service. The beatings stopped improving morale so they had to take another approach. Now the approach is a special plead. Suddenly it's ok not to like service......we'll console you and tell you we understand.......but for the sake of everlasting life (dangled carrot)....you need to suck it up and go.

  What the Watchtower needs to do to survive.

  drop its teaching on paradise earth.. the primary issue facing the watchtower results from it's teaching that members will never die, but live forever on this earth in paradise.

  this teaching is cause of most of the doctrinal failures, and will be its eventual demise.. the promise of never dying is one of the foremost motivations for people that join the religion, and the message of living forever in paradise is compelling.

  however, it is also the watchtower's achilles heel, as it forces false predictions of the nearness of the end.

  Brothers! Is it any wonder that WE here at JWN have the truth?

  Notice this post number*! It was the prophetic post number 607*. Some have said there is no prophetic significance at all attached to this post. Some have said that it was merely a play on numbers. Some have asked for proof that my 607th post was indeed prophetic. To those detractors I say....it is time you examine yourselves. Do you not wish my 607th* post to be prophetic because you are engaging in secret sin? Do you not wish my 607th* post to have prophetic meaning because it conflicts with your desire to have Korah-like independence? Have you fallen asleep spiritually? Wake up out of your drunken stupor! For just like the days of Noah were....so the days of my posts will be. The next thing you know I'll be at post number 1874.....then 1914....then 1925....then 1975....then 2014! Do you think these posts will continue forever? (insert 2 Pet chapter 3)

  For futher proof that this post is directed by God......take a look at the date of this posting. It is 05-17-2012! Add 05 + 17+ 2012 and what do you get? Yes. 2034! Exactly a Noah-like 120 years from 1914! Brothers! It is as biblically complete at the number 7 is. And what is more complete than the number 7? How about 7 multiplied by 7? That is 49. Subtract 49 years from 2034 and you get 1985....which happens to be the year Back to the Future was made. How appropriate that God chose THAT movie to forshadow the events to come in this 20th century in our day!
