United Nations Getting A Little On The Side...
by messenger ini find it interesting the new found love the wt appears to have for the un.
in the two latest articles, july 22, awake and august 1, wt, they make reference to the good policies of the un and it's universal declaration of human rights.
as my memory serves, the harlot represents babylon the great (aka, false religion, aka, all religion except jw's) that commits fornication with the wild beast (aka, un representing all kingdoms of the earth) does this bring on a "new light" adjustment in wt doctrine?

When I posted this thread there was no idea of the NGO status of WT. It appears this issue has been clarified as to why the WT wants to be happy with the UN. The Question that comes to my mind is why do they still continue to condemn the UN? In the lastest Isaiah Book they rip the UN up one side and down the other. They show pictures of the pope at the UN and other religions being associated. Could there be an internal discord within the GB as to how the UN should be treated? One side the F Franz camp who thinks it is the beast to bring the end of the world and the other side who basically does not agree and sees the advantage of using the UN to get the WT religious status (more money) in other countries. As with many issues of the GB they quietly disagree and continue in two differant directions. If this be the case then it may have caught up with them for not "being of one mind and speaking in agreement". How will the two camps reconcile if this is the way it is? Will the GB split and go differant directions? Time will tell.

It seemed to be the proverbial last "straw" for him. I do not think it will be the last DA letter for others.
He has never been on this board and I encouraged him to visit, if he does it will be by the name at the end of his letter.

Cxxxxxxx Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
c/o Watchtower Bible and Tract SocietyDear Friends,
I have some rather complicated issues to address, I do not harbor negative feelings toward any of those associated with the organization nor have I done anything wrong. I am grateful for what I have learned and for some good memories.
I am taking a life changing and life affirming action for sound scriptural reasons, actually, I liken the Watchtower movement to John the Baptist's work and the current group of Witness’s, are like his followers, preferring the old way and not listening to the kingdom message as it overtakes them. At any rate, being wrong about 1914 and not repenting makes the Society a false prophet and you know what that means for its members, so that naturally gave me pause.
The Watchtower is in bed with the UN. See documentation. Nothing need be said. Caught like an unfaithful wife. I don't know about you men, but it's "get out of her my people" time for me. I no longer want to be known as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, nor do I want in any way whatsoever to be associated with Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of NY, Penn., and whatever alias they may operate under these days.
I will associate with the Free Christian Movement, keeping our core beliefs, minus the awful cultic control of Watchtower.
Sincerely,
LateRain

September 29, 2001Date set for Moscow retrial aimed at banning Jehovah's Witnesses
MOSCOW—The retrial aimed at banning Jehovah's Witnesses in Moscow is scheduled to start on October 30, 2001, in the Golovinsky Intermunicipal District Court. At the preliminary hearing on September 24, Judge Vera Konstantinovna Dubinskaya directed the parties to prepare for a further expert study of the religious literature of Jehovah's Witnesses.
An application is before the Supreme Court in Russia to review the appellate Moscow City Court's ordering of a retrial. Russian lawyer Galina Krylova commented: "If the Supreme Court will only consider the evidence of the appeal court's blatant bias, it will agree with the conclusion of the trial court and all previous investigators - there is no basis to ban Jehovah's Witnesses."
Since 1995 the Moscow's Prosecutor's Office, acting on the persistent complaints of an anti-cult extremist group entitled The Committee for Salvation of Youth From Totalitarian Sects, has been pursuing a lengthy prosecution of the Religious Community of Jehovah's Witnesses in both criminal and civil proceedings. Investigatory and judicial bodies in Moscow on six separate occasions have established that there is no evidence of any illegal acts on the part of the Community and its members.
During the trial in the Golovinsky Court, the prosecutor stated she wanted a ban on Jehovah's Witnesses in Moscow and throughout Russia. The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation reregistered the "Administrative Center of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia" on April 29, 1999. Under Russia's 1997 law On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations, Jehovah's Witnesses have successfully registered 382 communities in 71 regions of Russia. However, Moscow has repeatedly denied reregistration to Jehovah's Witnesses. Applications by the Witnesses to lower courts are delayed or dismissed on dubious technical grounds. John Burns, a Canadian human rights lawyer, asked, "Why is Moscow, in its attempts to ban religious minorities, allowed to act independently of the rest of the Russian Federation?" He added, "The whole process can only be described as prosecutorial abuse and harassment of a religious minority."
The Religious Community of Jehovah's Witnesses in Moscow was registered by the Moscow Justice Department on December 30, 1993. Today it is made up of approximately 10,000 practicing Jehovah's Witnesses.

September 28, 2001Religious extremists intensify reign of terror in Georgia
TBILISI, Georgia—Early this morning religious extremists mounted a city-wide orchestrated attack on Jehovah's Witnesses, who were traveling to their annual religious convention in the adjacent city of Marneuli. The mob of some 100 attackers, many in masks, closed a main thoroughfare. They stopped the buses carrying delegates, dragged the people out by the hair, threw them to the ground and kicked them, punched them, and beat them with clubs. Women, children and the elderly were not spared. At least one bus and numerous cars carrying delegates were also seriously damaged in the process.
The attackers then headed to the convention site in Marneuli, where they continued the rampage. They trashed the convention site and a private residence and burned up the benches and religious literature in a bonfire. The attack was led by renegade Orthodox priest Vasili Mkalavishvili and his main associate Petre (Gia) Ivanidze. Despite organizing and participating in dozens of attacks against religious minorities over a period of two years, neither of these men has ever been taken into custody.
Jehovah's Witnesses had informed the authorities well in advance of their intention to hold a convention and had received guarantees from the police that proper measures would be taken to protect their right of assembly. Today's attack belies that statement. Victims who managed to get to police stations were derided by police officers and told that this matter was not a police affair. Police in Marneuli merely watched as the convention site was being trashed, but they made no attempt to intervene.

For Immediate Release
September 18, 2001Court victory for Armenian Jehovah's Witness
PYEREVAN, Armenia—Judge Mamvel Simonyan today pronounced Lyova Margaryan innocent of all criminal charges. He added that under Armenian law, Margaryan could apply for damages because of the "false charges" brought against him.
Margaryan was accused under Article 244 of the Armenian Criminal Code of "luring young people into attending religious meetings of an unregistered religion" and "influencing members to refuse their civic duties." The judge explained that the purpose of this law is to protect young people whose rights and health are damaged and who are urged to reject civic duties. He reviewed testimony that he said demonstrated a lack of evidence to support these charges. He explained: "According to Armenian law, every child has the right to worship and parents can educate them according to their beliefs until the age of 16." He added that judging by the evidence presented in court, "children had not been lured to meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses, but they had attended with the permission of their parents."
In his judgment, Judge Simonyan reminded the court that various witnesses had testified that their written statements had been dictated by the investigator. He also cited the example of one witness who said that her negative views of Jehovah's Witnesses had been gleaned from television.
Defense attorney, Rustam Khachatryan, declared:"This a victory for religious freedom in Armenia. The Judge's brave decision, despite intense pressure from the news media to convict Margaryan, should help to pave the way for Jehovah's Witnesses to be registered in Armenia."
This prosecution followed an Armenian television program in which law-enforcement officials called for a crackdown on unregistered religions, using article 244, of a 1960 antireligion law introduced under then Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev. Jehovah's Witnesses, who number 7,000 in Armenia, have made numerous attempts to secure registration since Armenia gained independence in 1991. Freedom of religion and conscience is guaranteed by the Constitution of Armenia and by the European Convention of Human Rights, which Armenia signed upon its accession to the Council of Europe on January 25, 2001.
The prosecutor immediately announced his intention to appeal Judge Simonyan's decision.

The guidlines offered by the Society have for years set standards for Christian conduct. Certain guidlines have serious implications for a Christian's decision could bring dire consequences, for example:
1. Join the military automatic-DA.
2. Willful blood transfusion automatic-DA.
3. Join YMCA automatic-DA.
4. Vote automatic-DA.When you consider the above implications to an individual Christian, the question would be, how would this apply to an organization that made up this code of Christian rules.
If it is good for the goose is it not good for the gander?
If that be the case it would provide the basis to say the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society has automatically disassociated themselves from God's favor. For those of you who read this each Christain should seriously consider shunning anyone associated with officials of the Society. It is sad to have to take this action, but what else can a Christain do when God's laws are broken.

Who was the dummy that created that moniker? What does it mean? Does it have something to do with ridding the earth of all evildoers? Isn’t that supposed to be Jesus job?
Perhaps you might like to help make some new suggestions as to the new name of the invasion force. I make a few suggestions below:
