  i know that most of you do not believe that the annointed remnant among jehovah's witnesses is the faithful & discreet slave.. so who is?

  jesus did say that this slave (individual or class?

  ) would be feeding his sheep, so who is doing the job?

  is THE STUPIDEST OF ALL WATCHTOWER TEACHINGS. You can't any dumber
  than their moronic view of the subject.

  Jesus was asking a rhetorical question - to motivate his
  disciples to be faithful and discreet.

  Who is the faithful and discreet slave? ANYBODY THAT IS FAITHFUL
  AND DISCREET!!!!!!!!!!!!! duh!

  If you find any Witless who disagrees with this,
  ask them:

  Are you unfaithful?
  Are you a fool?

  If the answer is no to both questions, then they are
  BY DEFINITION, a faithful and discreet slave!

  what prompted this post was mentioned by cpiolo in the earlier thread ``the organization behind the name.

  for all the bible thumping that goes on here and in other quarters among the religiously inclined, seldom does any awareness of the controversial origins of the bible as we know it come to the surface.. the volume we call the bible emerged from the wranglings of clerics whose job it was to settle matters once for all time.

  all of these, or course, fit the current jw definition of apostate christendom; seldom were their choices for inclusion unanimous; several, including the book of rvelation, squeaked through on the slimmest of of majorities, others were excluded by margins equally fine.

  I used that example because of fear - the Society separates
  people in the baptism line with AIDS - they get dunked last
  because of some fear of contamination.

  As for the rest of your babble, if Jesus could be here

  to see the light of what Christianity is supposed to
  be?

  Nope, they failed, once again, to make any real,
  practical application of Jesus' example of mercy in
  the face of rules. Imagine that in paragraph 20 (12/15), they
  could have asked:

  Would you help a df'd person change a flat tire?
  Would you hold a baby shower for a sister, pregnant
  out of wedlock and broke?
  Would you shake hands with a person with AIDS?

  By failing to give any real guidance, they only
  succeed in proving themselves to be the abject slaves
  of hard hearted theocratic Pharisees, once again.

  God, who writes this crap?

  Much of what they quote is outdated opinion. While they ramble
  on about hard coded genes for aging, science is actually finding them.
  According to a study in Science, there may not be that many of them.

  Animal studies are also suggestive. Caloric restriction increases
  lifespan and health in animals up to and including monkeys.
  Further, new antioxidants are being prepared that extend life
  and health in animal studies - based on the new information
  gathered from 'DNA chips' - namely that free radical damage
  in mitochondria is the dominant cause of aging.

  They need to keep up....
