  Homework: what do nations think about america?

  i would appreciate any input from residents of other nations for this homework assignment, as well as americans.. what do members of other nations really think about america, compared with what we percieve them as thinking?.

  Hi guys

  I'm from Switzerland. On one hand, people admire Americans, their economie and military power. On the other hand, Americans have the image, to have no cultur and style. They tend to be superficial. I just can tell you, that president Bush is not popular here. I don't like him either. He scare many people with his patriotism. America is the best, the sample of freedom, the strongest army .......this kind of statements from the President make him arrogant.

  On the other hand I'm glad to have America as a balance to the islamic world.

  I guess, he can compare IP Adresses. Even you change the E-Mail or user name, the IP Adress remain the same. My wife is an administator of a Chat room. She did that several time.

  i"m finally going to do it , write that dang da letter.

  being that we still have family in, i would like some assistance in starting out this task.

  i have so much already in mind, but after being on these board and reading about so many of you, i can see the strenght coming from you the beautiful way some of guys can write.

  I had like two versions of letter with almost the same content. One startet with: Dear friends ....the others with: To the elders of....

  but I sent all the same day and I think, most of them read it. If I would get a letter, I couldn't hold myself back from reading...

  After that, my father, a elder, complaint about the fact, that I sent so many letters to the brothers. But I said, I have the right to tell them one last word, cause after that, I can't comunicate anymore.
  And anyway, if they just ask my family for the reasons, they would say, that we got in contact with apostates. So, I liked it better to tell them directly.

  I just sent a DA letter (7 pages) 4 weeks ago. I sent a copy to all (ex)friends in different meetings.
  My workmate got one too, one week later he left the witness too.
  So it was worth the effort to write such a letter....

  Problems after JWism

  hi everyone, i'd just lke to see if anyone has experienced any of the problems i have as a result of leaving j-dubs.. i know that it is quite common for people to have anxiety or 'panic' attacks.

  these are when a person feels uncomfortable in a certain situation that can result in them feeling as if they are about to die.. i have noticed that since leaving, i have had quite a few of these attacks.

  i don't know if it is coinsidence or attributed to.... i tend to get them in social situations, whether it be on a bus, just generally talking to people, walking down the street, eating at tables with people.. i have had to go to the doctor because i have had heart palpitations(fast heart beating).

  I do have the same symptons too in the last weeks, since I left the witness. I also have bad dreams, mostly about my family, since they are still witness.
  Would it be good to get professional treatment? What would they do?

  I also feel sometimes alone and left, but somehow hesitate to make new friends. Do you have that Problem too?

  Marijuana...should it be legalised?

  after talkin in chat tonight....it has got me and a friend talkin about whether marijuana should be legalised.. my view...yes, .

  i) who has the right to tell me what to do with my own body?.

  ii) alcohol is a legalised drug....each year more deaths occur through alcohol abuse than marijuana usage.. iii) people smoke it anyway and the question is not bein addressed.. iv) it's great to get stoned!!!

  it will be legalised soon here in Switzerland...
  I face dope every day everywhere. The police doesn't take action against it anymore. It just doesn't make sense, half of the populaton smoke it sometimes.
  I myself grow the first time weed myself. I got nice female plants from a friend.
  As you said before, Tabac and Alkohol are worse than weed...
  and it would be a good income for farmers.

  2) if not, why pray?.

  I understand your question very well, Jeru. I asked the same many times.
  Why do we ask for protection, but get involved into accidents like every other non witness person?
  There is only one satisfaying answer: There is no god or he is not interessted in human....

  Carbon-14 Dating

  hello all: in discussing evolution, creation, and bible chronology we will at some point pass through various dating methods that challenge religious beliefs, especially that of the watch tower religion.. some years ago the watch tower society published material (i forget the actual reference) that challenged carbob-14 dating as flawed and prone to error, especially when dating fossils.

  the wts cited some sources that dealt with sample contamination that may cause errors in reading half-life of carbon-14.. i wish i could find the article again, because it was published when i was still working in nuclear engineering.

  i recall feeling that the wts was stretching the claims to cover the understanding of bible chronology regarding the age of homo sapiens being about 4,026 years.

  Hello
  very good posting, amazing. As I know, nowaday, there are several different dating methods, which can be used for the same fossil. They can use 4-5 different methods of dating to prove the age.
  As far as I know, the C-14 dating is kind of an old technic, right?

  Fact is, a witness normaly never realy study this kind of science, they just know from the WT literature about dating methods.
