They would all fit on the isle of Wight?
by purrpurr ini remember once asking how the planet could possibly accommodate all the people who have ever lived?
after the resurrection i mean.
the answer i was told is that the gb had calculated that all the people who have ever lived could all fit on to the isle of wight?!.

Petra your correct about point 2 on my post. I've realised what I've done and can't seem to edit. Can't find a source for born/died up to 1987. The other figures are from the interweb. -

purrpurr - When I was coming along in the mid-eighties It was put to me this way:
1. World pop in 1987 could fit shoulder to shoulder on the Isle of Wight. It was just over 5 billion at the time.
2. The amount of people who'd ever lived & died up to 1987 could fit shoulder to shoulder on Madagascar. The
total - 108 billion ( 2 separate sources).
I've never given it any thought till your post.

A new member
by Kurteousmaximus inhi... i am new and after nearly 20 years after being disassociated at 15 i would like to make contact with others who have similar difficulties.
my mother was disfellowshipped shortly after my rebellion and had all ties with both her mother and brother cut and that remains the case.. just really hacked off with not being able to put things in the proper place in my life after all these years.
for the record i don't know if i believe in god but am searching for some peace as i seem to self destruct on a regular basis.. any ideas anyone?.

My Mother Died Two Weeks Ago
by Perry innone of my jehovah's witness relatives called to tell me or my family.
just found out this morning.

Oh Perry, that is so awful for you. We've just experienced this from non-jw family. Not as close as your mum. But it's cruel to those who experience this, and it's too late to do anything. I really feel for you man. -

666 Jehovah Witnesses in Iceland
by disillusioned 2 injust came across this news article and thought you all might like to see it.
quite funny.. figures on registration in icelands religious institutions have yielded some interesting results.. visir recently compiled data that they requested from the national registry on the numbers of people registered with different religious institutions in iceland.
unsurprisingly, the largest number of registrants belonged to the national church; some 240,395 icelanders out of the total population of 331,244 belong to the church, either by voluntary registration or from being autoregistered at birth.. where other religious institutions are concerned, one of the more interesting data points is that there are exactly 666 registered members of the jehovahs witnesses in iceland..
